Chapter 38: Peter’s Tricks

The next morning, the sunshine poured into the bedroom.

Katie opened her sleepy eyes and was momentarily stunned when she turned her head, seeing Adam sitting on the floor beside the bed.

"Are you awake?" Adam turned his head and softly asked.

Katie nodded slightly. "Did you not sleep all night?"

Adam smiled. "I closed my eyes for a while."

After a few seconds of silence, Katie asked, "Why didn't you go back to the room to sleep?"

Adam smiled. "I wanted to be closer to you and our daughter."

Early in the morning, and he was already being flirtatious.

Katie's heart shook for a moment, unable to answer for a while. It was only at this moment that she noticed the water cup on the bedside table, full to the brim. She didn't know if she hadn't drunk water all night, or Adam would always fill it on time no matter how many times she drank.
