Trouble in Paradise

Emilio's P.O.V

"It's been two days without any contact from you Emilio!Where are you?" I let out a sigh as I sit down in my office .What should I even tell her at this point? That I am with my son and his mother ?I sure know how to make a mess.

"I'm on a business trip my love.I will be back as soon as I am done over here." I hope she believes whatever I am saying to her.

"Yes now about the boat did you buy it?" Christ this woman will kill me.

" I said I'll think about it Lisa .Why do you want a boat you hate the sea ." She gets bored really fast and I know damn well that if I buy this stupid boat it will be left at port like everything else she wants that's all glitter .

" Get me the damn boat and stop asking me questions Emilio." Ah now it's the yelling.I let her go on about how ungrateful I am for everything she does for me as I think about my little problem downstairs.

I have to figure out how to keep those two safe and find out who is trying to kill them.I don't even know how long I could keep them hidden from the world .Maybe I should really send them abroad to some island where no one will know them. Problem is I can't let my son go when I've just found him.

"Emilio are you even listening to me?"Lisa yells through the call and I sigh as I pick up the phone.

" Yes as always Lisa I am.How is the hotel running?Is Samuel helping out?" She sighs loud enough that I know she is annoyed. Everytime I mention Samuel she always gets annoyed.

" it's a hotel Emilio and it has employees nothing will happen to it." I hope so because from what the CFO has been telling me the hotel is not bringing in enough money or is someone stealing from it? There's a lot I need to solve back in the city and now with Eliza and Leo it's going to be hell for the next coming weeks.

"Was there anything else you wanted Lisa?"

" Emilio I was curious about something did you ever find that woman?" Why is she asking about Eliza?

" No.I stopped my man from looking for her as soon as she disappeared. " the lie comes naturally .

" I don't know why I'm even asking.I thought the batch would have contacted you for more money."

" Maybe she left the country."

" Daddy!" Leo comes running into the office.I hold my finger to my lips for him to keep quiet

" what was that Emilio?"Lisa yells

" Nothing...It was my client's family.I have to go now." I hang up the phone before she can say anything.

" Daddy!I want to play outside." Leo jumps up and down .

" Did you ask your mum?" I pick him up and trudge downstairs.

" Mummy can I go play outside?" I watch as Eliza looks at us with a faraway look .Why are her eyes red was she crying?Women are just too emotional about everything.

" He'll be fine ." I walk over to her and hand Leo to her .

" You can take him outside if you want .I'm gonna go rest for a bit." She hands back Leo and trudged back upstairs.

"Is he asleep?" Did she do something to her hair?It looks different.Earlier it was super curly qnd it went all the way to her midback and now it looks like she cut it.

"Did you cut your hair?" She pauses on the way down the stairs and consciously touches her hair.

"Yes .It got in the way.I like it short now." She looks anywhere but at me.Still shy .

"Do you have anyone that you might want to contact while you're here ?" I pass her the glass full of juice.

" it's not poisoned Eliza!" Woman distrusts me so much .

" I can't be easy going about things.Someone is trying to kill me for all I know this could all be your plan." She glares at me as she sits right across me by the kitchen counter.

" I wouldn't do that to Leo" I growl the words out my anger at her keeping my son away from me taking over.

"Where were you Eliza?You disappeared then I get a call on your house being burnt down.What crook have you been dealing with?"

" What is that supposed to mean ? I would never put my son in danger like that.The moment I met you and that damned family of yours I've always been in danger .Now I'm locked on this damned place with your annoying comments. "

" Calm down! You're here because of my son."I yell

" Typical of you to assume he is even your son." She glares at me and I let my self calm down knowing full well she is just trying to provoke me.

"Don't disrepest yourself like that.You are not that woman Little one." I walk over to her and tuck loose hair behind her ear and head upstairs to try to get some work done.

" Emilio! When are we leaving this place?I cannot stay here for long?" She follows me up the stairs.

" I don't know.We need to first figure out who's trying to kill you and Leo." I open the door for her bit she stands there wrapping her arms protectively around her.

" Nothing will happen to you here Eliza ." I pat her on the shoulder to reassure her.

" I'm gonna check on Leo and maybe take a nap."

" Yeah OK.I'll be in here .Just knock if you need me for anything I am going to catch up on some work that I've been neglecting." She nods and heads right past jy office towards the bedrooms.

I close the door to my office and pull out the financial statements of the hotel for the past 10 years. My accountant had noticed a few misregularities with the books and someone seems to be taking from the hotels money.I need to check everything and work on catching whoever is trying to take everything from me.
