Lewis called back in four minutes.
"Marcus didn't put Marsh in the brief," he said. "The collaboration list came from Harrison's office. Marcus pulled it from the standard Sterling vendor register without checking the names individually."
She closed her eyes for one second.
"Harrison's vendor register," she said.
"Yes."
"Harrison built the brief that was supposed to correct what he did to Bellamy," she said. "And he put Daniel Marsh in it."
"Marcus didn't know the connection," Lewis said. "I didn't know the connection. We didn't know Marsh was at the gala."
"But Harrison did," she said.
Silence.
"Yes," Lewis said. "Harrison knew."
She stood on Queen Street with the Edinburgh cold coming through her coat.
