THE TUBES HAD BEEN reloaded. After the attack, Setter was taken down to a hundred feet while it was done. First the Fore Ends, the compartment where the reloads were stowed and where the crew lived, was cleared out; everything - hammocks, the long table, mess gear, boxes of stores - was shifted into the gangway and into the other messes.
