CHAPTER 9 Reflected in the mirror was the red orb of the sun, sinking slowly through the sky. It was very quiet in the tower without the others. But rustles and the odd squeak told Callie she was not alone. She shuddered, not wanting to think about what was keeping her company. She studied the painting she’d just finished. Two knights riding past, neither of them Lancelot. Where was he right now? With Guinevere? Callie’s fists clenched. Lancelot and Guinevere. It mustn’t happen. Not now. Not after everything she’d been through to get here. She looked into the mirror once more, searching for him, and saw a knight and a lady walking slowly towards her, arm in arm.
