CHAPTER 13 El watched the shadows creep across the tower room as the sun sank below the horizon. She moved the fat, lighted candle she had brought from the kitchen into the centre of the room, blessing the pale circle of light that helped to hold back the darkness. She had to wait for the moon to rise, and although each minute felt like an hour, she was less frightened now that she had a plan, something to do, something she hoped would get them out of Camelot and back home. She allowed herself a small grin at her own expense. How she’d laughed — jeered — at Meg and her incantations. Just as well Meg wasn’t here to witness what she was going to do now.
