Toward THE finish of the way, she was stunned to meet the youngster whom she saved, the person who likewise hit her while he was riding the kalesa. On his hand, he was holding a light. "Ikaw? (You!)" Esperanza inquired. The young fellow hopped in shock. "Binibini, a-anong ginagawa mo dito sa ganitong oras?" he inquired. (Miss, w-why are you here at this sort of time?) "Ikaw dapat ang tanungin ko niyan. Diba hindi dad maayos ang sugat mo? Bakit ka nandito?" Esperanza inquired. (I ought to be the one asking you that. Isn't your injury completely recuperated? What are you doing here?) Esperanza, with a grimace, peered toward the young fellow. She pondered internally, 'Would he say he is the one whom Bangun was alluding to? My manual for this mission? Why him?' "Coincidentally - - - " she began. "Straight t - - ano?" he inquired. (What?) 'Goodness shoot! I neglected! I talk in English once more.' She pondered internally while reviling herself. Ikaw? Anong pangalan mo?" (Ahh - - what I intend to ask is - will be - what is your name? We haven't got an opportunity to talk and present one another. Incidentally, I'm Esperanza. You? What's your name?) "Pepe po, binibini," he said. (I figure you ought not address me obligingly in light of the fact that we are in as old as) Pepe turned his back and began to walk. His left injured arm was dressed. Esperanza followed him. "U - Esperanza, anong ginagawa mo?" Pepe inquired. (U - - Esperanza, what's going on with you?) Esperanza inquired, "Anong ibig mong sabihin?" (What do you mean?) Pepe said, "Bakit tila sinusundan mo ako?" (Why is it appeared as though you were following me?) Esperanza said, "Kung saan ka pupunta, doon racket ako." (Where you are going, I'll go there as well) She thought, 'Since you are my aide, I should follow you. You should help me in this journey of mine.' Pepe halted and confronted her, "Iyong totoo Esperanza? Ano ba talaga ang ginagawa mo dito? Baka hinahanap ka na ng ate Clara mo." (Seriously Esperanza? Why are you truly here? Your more seasoned sister, Clara, should be searching for you) She halted and saw him, "May pakiusap sana ako sa iyo Pepe. Kung maari matulungan mo ako. Zeal ko na kasi umuwi sa tahanan namin." (I have something to ask you, Pepe. I trust you can help me. I gravely need to return home) "Pero," he began, "Anong ibig mong sabihin? Hindi mo ba kaanu-ano ang mabait and matulungin na si ate Clara?" (But - your meaning could be a little clearer. Is it accurate to say that you are not identified with the sort and accommodating Clara?) She gestured, "Sa totoo lang, hindi ako taga rito. Kaya kung maari tulungan mo sana ako." (To be straightforward, I'm not from here. That is the reason, if it's not too much trouble, help me out) Pepe checked out her, reluctantly, "Paumanhin pero hindi ka maaring sumabay sa associated." (Sorry yet you can't go with me) She checked out him, "At bakit?" (And why?) Pepe scratched his head, "Eh - ano kasi - - " (Eh - - - on the grounds that - - ) "Kasi ano?" Esperanza inquired. (Since what?) Pepe said, "Kasi… .. Nako, mahirap sabihin eh." (Because… .. it's difficult to say) Esperanza began, "Kasi rebelde ka, 'far off ba 'far off?" Pepe saw her, amazed. "Alam ko sa simula dad lang na rebelde ka. Isa ka sa mga takas sa kulungan noong nakaraang araw." (Because you are a revolutionary, is that it? I realize that from the earliest starting point that you are a revolutionary. You are one of those detainees who got away from the prison a few days ago) He saw her confused. He told her assuming she definitely knew what his identity was, the reason she didn't offer him to the guardia common (police). Why, rather than dreading him actually like how individuals treated him, she rather helped him out? "Ewan ko, hindi ko rin alam. Sadyang mahilig lang talaga ako tumulong sa ibang tao," she said. "At isa dad, alam ko rin na ikaw 'yong bumangga sa associated sa Plaza." (I don't have the foggiest idea. I actually prefer to help others. Also, a certain something, I realize you were the person who unintentionally hit me in the Plaza) Pepe, who had lost his words, seen her stunned. His eyes were self-reproachful. "At dahil doon, kung energy mong bumawi sa associated, dapat mo akong tulungang hanapin itong isang tao para makauwi na ako sa amin." (And therefore, assuming you need to reimburse me you want to assist me with finding someone in particular so I can at last return home) Pepe inquired, "At sino naman itong hahanapin natin?" (And who is this individual we are searching for?) She said, "Jose Rizal." Pepe checked out her with a confused face. While they were strolling, Pepe told her that Jose Rizal was detained in Fort Santiago, to the extent he recalled. Esperanza told him, that there was this gossip about Jose Rizal. Jose Rizal was going to expelled from Fort Santiago and be banished in Dapitan however at that point, unexpectedly, he vanished. That is the reason, Esperanza said, they should track down him. Pepe was interested. Why observing Jose Rizal would assist her with getting back home? He likewise addressed: what's her association with Jose Rizal. However, Esperanza just forgot about the inquiry. Obviously, she was unable to educate him regarding her mission. Her story may sound to him as inept and hogwash. "So," Esperanza took a gander at Pepe. The light coming from the light conveyed by Pepe enlightened his face. The young fellow, Pepe, has a dim appearance, simply all Filipinos in this time. He might not have that distended nose yet his face is attractive in its own specific manner. Esperanza proceeded, "Paano natin hahanapin si Jose Rizal?" (So? How would we track down Jose Rizal?) Pepe, utilizing his free hand, scratched his head. "Balak ko na sana magtago at magpakalayo, mamuhay ng matiwasay. Ayaw ko na sana bumalik doon. Pero," he moaned, "wala na akong magagawa. Kinakailangan mo ang aking tulong at malugod akong tulungan ka Esperanza." (I intended to stow away and escape, to carry on with a tranquil life. I would rather not return there. However, I must choose between limited options. You want my assistance and I'm eager to assist you, Esperanza) "Ayaw mo na bumalik doon? Anong ibig mong sabihin sa 'doon'?" she inquired. (You would rather not return there? What do you mean by that?) He murmured, "Tondo, ang tahanan ko. " (Tondo, my home.) Esperanza saw him, confounded. Pepe seemed as though he was in a tough situation. (I have somebody I know in Tondo who could help us) While they were strolling and talking, with a light enlightening the street, they didn't see two guardia common (police) were following them. One of the guardia common hollered at them to end. He asked them, what they are doing at this sort of time, strolling outside while individuals were resting. Pepe looked at Esperanza. The two took a gander at one another and right now realize that they were in hot water. Pepe held Esperanza's hand, and the two started to run away. The two guardia common (Civil Gaurd) attempted to fired them with their rifles as they pursued the two. ...… A couple of moments back… ...… Not a long way from where Pepe and Esperanza were, a man was remaining out and about. He was wearing a 'salakot' or a conventional wide-overflowed cap made of rattan (phragmites reeds). He has a very much managed mustache on his upper lip. He was wearing a 'camisa de chino' (white shirt) and dark jeans. He checked out the little item folded over his wrist. It was a cutting edge gadget, a wristwatch. He's back, he contemplated internally. He's at last back. Hu vufzt f eprlvmo rufz jvuzu vu jfl lofrtare. Hu aqqutafouiw tank guvart ovu rufzulo ozuu frt lhmpout val lpzzmprtarel. He took a gander at his wristwatch. How would it be advisable for him to respond? 'I surmise not today,' he told himself, murmuring, and turned the crown of the wristwatch counterclockwise. He then, at that point, abruptly vanished in reality. Directly on where he used to be stowing away, Pepe and Esperanza halted and stowed away. They were gasping. The two guardia common were as of now not close behind. Esperanza hurled a full breath, her pulse would not prevent from siphoning quicker. She contemplated internally, 'this is damnation. Is this going to be my life for a period being? Being pursued by slugs and cops? You must mess with me?'
