Two days later, at 4 am, Evan crawled out of bed. After working the evening before, he’d spent several hours driving through selected neighborhoods, looking for new targets. On his tablet, he could access county records and get an idea of how many people lived at specific addresses. Then he’d make sure that there was only a single car at the home. When he felt reasonably confident he’d found a potential target, he’d loiter in the neighborhood for a couple of days, watching the activity. He slowly passed a house on Kinder Avenue. He needed to make sure no one was home. If things happened as expected, a pickup truck would return within 20 minutes. The home was dark and there were no cars in the drive. Evan had already verified that the homeowner used the garage for storage and not parking
