Jenny Moore had been back in Tuscon for only a day and was now in a car headed to meet the rest of the team at the animal shelter. Her partner, Tom Koster, sat in the seat next to her.
Her phone rang, and she saw it was from Mac. She pressed a button, and the call was on the car’s audio system for them both to hear.
“Hey, Mac. You’re on with Tom and me. We’re only about 10 min from the shelter.”
“Change of plans. We’re finishing up there now, and we just got the warrant for Evan’s phone and are tracking it now. He’s on Highway 10 headed north out of town.
“I want you guys to chase him down. I’m working on getting the tracking info sent directly to you, and we’re getting a helicopter out of Phoenix to coordinate with you.”
