Brian Connor sat on the warm sand on a sunny beach in Cancún, Mexico, with a half-full drink in his hand. He was staying at a beautiful resort with great food and perfect weather, but he was still as depressed as he’d been for many months. He’d spent some time here trying to make sense of his life. His being paroled from prison had little value without his family, and he spent several hours each day crying uncontrollably.
