Chapter 36
Dan Felty walked into the bedroom. His hair was wet, and he had a towel wrapped around his waist.
As he dressed, he noted how it felt good to shower and put on clean clothes. He felt thankful to do these simple tasks without anyone hovering over him. Since getting home from the hospital the night before, either Abby or one of the kids had been with him constantly, and he felt smothered.
His strength and mental focus were nearly back to normal, and he needed to be active, not sitting around. While mostly recovered, he still had a dull ache in his upper arm where the dart had struck and a scratchy sensation in his throat from the tube that had kept him alive for more than 24 hours.
After dressing, Dan checked the time, seeing he still had five minutes before the 10 am meeting.
