Chapter 58
Evan disembarked in Wolf Creek, Montana, three days after boarding the bus in Arizona. The ticket he’d purchased would have taken him three more stops. He’d intentionally purchased a ticket going farther than necessary in case the police were tracking him.
Walking from the bus stop, he saw a diner and headed inside, thankful for the chance for a decent meal after three days on the road.
He walked to the back and took a booth facing the door.
Glancing over the menu, he decided on a simple burger and fries.
A young waitress brought him his food, then stayed away, obviously uncomfortable with his appearance. The disguise which kept him from being recognized in Arizona made him stand out here in Montana.
