Dan smiled as his plan to use Evan’s father to get him to surrender seemed to be working. The men were talking and expressing emotions. It seemed as if Evan might surrender if that meant being able to maintain contact with his father.
Dan had developed a fondness for Brian and hoped he’d be able to have a relationship with his son, even if that were only in the way of prison visitations.
Evan and Brian walked closer to the water, and Dan felt a chill. Something was bothering him. Something he couldn’t place.
