Chapter Three

~ Tamara "I'm so sorry. I promise it was... It wasn't intentional, Xavier," I breathed out when I realised how foolish kissing him was. I meant it, though. I didn't just kiss every guy I met for the first time. To be honest, I'd never dared to kiss a guy. And now I just did. "Will you say something?" I asked. I was worried that he would hear the sound of my heart thumping loudly and fast in my chest. "You were talking too much and... It wasn't intentional, I promise." I went ahead to say. If he'd just say something and not keep staring at me like I was some creep. I knew I'd acted like one. "It's fine." He looked away from me after what seemed like eternity. "Xavier —" "I said it's fine. It was just one harmless kiss. It doesn't mean anything. Besides, you don't have to work yourself up about it. We aren't related yet, Tammy." He grinned, his smile melted my insides without him knowing. I don't know which was worse. He said the kiss didn't mean anything, or he acted like nothing had just happened. My first kiss, and it meant nothing? Well, I knew what I had felt those few fleeting minutes our lips touched. And I knew it was real. It wasn't love or any stupid emotion of the sort. I'd felt the thrill of the moment. The thought that anyone could be watching when our lips touched sent tingling down my spine. "Get in the car, Tammy. We don't want to make you late for your job hunting now, do we?" He asked with a raised brow, and I shook my head. "Go on then, get in." Xavier drove like he'd been driving all his life. Skillfully, his hands gripping the wheel and his eyes glancing at the mirror now and then. Those hands. I bet they could do much more than just driving. First, he'd driven me to a coffee shop a stone's throw from the house, but there weren't any vacancies, so he'd suggested we visit this little cafe he loved visiting. It was a cosy little building, and when he'd pulled up in the driveway, I saw the sign on the French doors. 'Salesgirl needed'. "Do you want to check it out?" He glanced at me, and I nodded. What could go wrong? The place looked homey, and besides, this was the kind of place I'd envisioned getting a job. "Why do you need to get a job anyway? With your Dad being super rich. You can have Daddy's money, so why work?" Xavier asked me as I fumbled with unbuckling the seatbelt. "I don't need his money," I replied softly, with uneven breaths. "I see. You've got Daddy issues," He smiled at me. I couldn't help but smile back. He had this kind of smile that I loved to call infectious. He had a pretty smile. "You could just ask for help with that." His eyes left mine to rest on my seatbelt. "I don't need your help," "It gets stuck sometimes. Let's see—" Xavier leaned in, so that his face was a few inches apart from my neck as he took a look at the stuck seatbelt. Oh, gracious God! I could inhale this masculine scent forever. Except I forgot how to breathe, which I did until the seatbelt unbuckled. Xavier didn't sit back when he finished with the seatbelt. He just stared at me, our faces inches apart. His Adam's apple bobbed up and down, and I knew he was thinking the same thing. Thank goodness I wasn't the only person who was feeling the s****l tension in this car. I'd feel like a creep if that were the case. "Xav—" My words got caught in my throat when he—Xavier's lips came crashing on mine. I fell apart that instant as I kissed him back, just with the same amount of primal need and desire. His tongue probed my lips, and I let him in. Once our tongues collided, I felt it. Fireworks. Sparks. Damn, I needed more. I couldn't get enough of his taste, his smell. I brought my hands to fists on his shirt, pulling him closer until my hardened n*****s, through the fabric of my flimsy sundress, were pressed against his chest. Xavier didn't relent. The kiss grew ferocious as he bit my lip, and I moaned into the kiss. Our tongues, at this rate, were fighting for dominance. And then it clicked. My step-brother was kissing me. I was kissing my stepbrother. I was enjoying every moment. A small, estranged sound left my swollen lips when he broke the kiss. His lips met my slender neck, and I shuddered. He licked the spot, nibbled, bit and sucked and I shut my eyes, revelling in the pure bliss of pleasure his little actions brought to me. His hands caressed my shoulders through my dress, and before I could stop him, he was fumbling with the buttons of my dress. "Stop. Please, Xavier —" I breathed out. Oh lord. I was a mess. My cheeks were scorching hot, and my lips were swollen. Anyone glancing at me right then would know what I'd been up to. "Do we have to?" I heard Xavier's muffled complaint as he sucked on my collarbone. "Xavier, please stop." "Why? We aren't related, not yet anyway. It's just two horny teenagers satisfying their physical desires. It doesn't mean anything, right?" His words clicked my brain shut, and I pushed his head away from my neck, my eyes blazing. What'd he just say? Two horny teenagers satisfying what? "You are doing the opposite of what your body wants, Tammy?" Xavier smiled lazily, and he made to connect our lips again. This time, I turned my face away, and his lips met with my already sensitive neck. "This just keeps getting better and better," He chuckled against my neck. "Can you please just stop? Stop!" I had to raise my voice so he could know how serious I was. He could keep coming at me, and I'd give in, but then what would that make me? A horny teenager satisfying my needs with no other person but my step brother? "Are we doing this thing or not?" "That—that was my first kiss, Xavier," I said softly. As soft as Abrielle would be if she were in my shoes. "s**t!" Xavier muttered, his gaze meeting mine.
