I'd never met a mermaid before, but then, I hadn't had this much strength before Joseph the Mightier awaking. He taught me (or rather, I taught myself—the whole concept still confuses me) how to fully utilize my 'Sight,' and the more I understood, the more I realized that I had been peering into the other realm with half-open eyes. I could have come across many of them without even realizing it. I was used to seeing people's issues manifested in many ways. My'sight' improved dramatically only after the waking of Joseph the Mightier. To avoid being overwhelmed by the situation, I had to learn how to close it up a little.
