After Jake followed the lead of Lilith and the rogue to the dean’s office, I walked out of the canteen while everyone was still very much silent but I didn’t give a damn, I never did to begin with. I then retrieved my phone from my pocket on my way to the second floor.
Without wasting another second, I called Karla, Dean’s secretary, and waited for her to pick up my phone. After three rings, she picked up the phone and greeted me with her usual practiced formal lines.
“Hello, I’m Karla. How can I help you?”
“Karla, It’s Carson Woods this side. I would like to talk to the dean about a conflict between students in the college province. Please connect me to him.” I told her in just as much formal tone as her.
