I stared at Maddie in confusion while she gave me that mischievous smile of hers and wondered what is going on in her head. “You are not taking the bus.” She finally spoke after a minute.
A frown settled on my face as my mind processed her words and I couldn’t help but ask her, “Why? And more importantly, how will I go back to my home?”
Maddie’s smiled widened at my words and she all but squealed in excitement. “I will give you a ride.”
I nodded at her words, still not understanding the reason behind her excitement. “Okay, let’s go to your car then,” I told her and waited for her to lead us to her car.
