“I’ve got good news!” Naima announced triumphantly, taking a seat across from Noah. It was the middle of the day at lunchtime in the main hall, so the Vampire students – and Professor Van der Linden – were nowhere to be seen.
“Oh, really?” Noah asked curiously, spreading a bit of mayonnaise on his sandwich. “I’m intrigued.”
Naima leaned forward across the table so that he could hear her whisper. “I hear Professor Van der Linden is going out on an assignment this weekend. He’ll be out on Saturday night, so that will be a perfect time to search his quarters for clues.”
“Brilliant!” he exclaimed. “Something I thought about is that they have a really great sense of smell. We’ll need to find a spell that will cover our scent, that way he doesn’t realize we were in there.”
