Sally was early for our second appointment.
She’d messaged to ask if that was okay. I got the message as I was having some wine with Robert and Julia before they went out. I found the idea of Sally meeting them as quite fun, which may have been the influence of the booze. Booze that I had intended to skip, as the night ahead promised to be “large” as the rock boys put it. Life was good and I was a trifle giddy with it all, but hang it. I grabbed a glass and joined them. I had quite the buzz on when the entry phone sounded.
I let my visitor in and waited by the door as she came up the stairs, watching. She was dressed casually this time, but she looked better in jeans that most would in a designer dress. She was immaculate.
