Chapter Six

661 Words
“What the hell? Why are you running away from a hospital while you’re injured?!” the gorgeous man with green eyes shouts while walking towards me. “There is nothing to be afraid of! That’s why I brought you to the pack hospital instead of a regular hospital in the city!” He continues with concern in his eyes but has his lips in a tight line. Oh, what I could do to those lips. Wait, WHAT AM I THINKING?! I shake my head to clear those thoughts out of my head which only seem to confuse him further. “No, what do you mean no”? There was a brief silence. I know I will have to force myself to talk so I do the best I absolutely can to hype myself up. Come on Elara, you’re being ridiculous. Put your big girl panties on and open your stupid mouth. “ I want to go home. Now”. I squeak out. What the hell was that? When do I ever squeak when I talk? The gorgeous green-eyed man furrows his brow and looks at me up and down as if he wanted to devour me where I stood. It sends chills down my spine and makes my face start to get warm which only means I’m starting to blush. “No, absolutely not. You just went through your first transition with your wolf and you were nowhere near ready physically. It almost killed you. I almost lost you.” The man says in a firm but slight pleading tone. I did what?! “What do you mean transition? What wolf? What the hell are you talking about? I don’t even know you!” I reply, almost shouting while trying not to freak out externally anymore than I already am. Get your s**t together El, this guy is just crazy. The gorgeous man straightens himself upright and adjusts his pants waistline as if what I said to him hurt him and he was trying not to show it. “My name is Nicklaus Oslo Hunt but you can call me Nick. You are at a pack hospital for werewolves because humans would not have known how to treat your condition and I’d really like it if we could get you back to your room for the doctors to assess you”. I stood there for a moment and did the only thing I could do. I laughed. Hysterically. For a good 2 minutes, I laughed until I had tears streaming down my face. All the while, Nick and his blond sidekick in black clothing stared at me in wonder and confusion. When I finally contained my laughter to a chuckle, I took a deep breath to get my bearings. “Yeah, okay. Werewolves. Are there vampires too? What about Santa Clause”? I mutter out as I roll my eyes and cross my arms. Nick squints at me as if he’s tired of my antics. “You seriously don’t know”? He asks, pressing one more time to confirm I’m not joking. I raise an eyebrow as if to say that I don’t believe a word he says. Nicks takes a deep breath and begins to unbutton his shirt. I want to get into a defensive stance because why is this dude taking off his shirt in the middle of the road?! But my body betrayed me and instead soaked in the sight of his muscles, chest and abs out for all to see. Oh my goodness gracious, I’ve never seen a more perfect man. Ever. After he hands his shirt to blondie sidekick, he undoes his belt and kicks off his shoes. About the time that I’m going to ask a sarcastic question, Nick’s skin violently rips open and reveals dark brown fur underneath. After a good five seconds, a huge seven foot wolf proudly stands in front of me where Nick previously was.
