Sonia’s POV
His hands cupped my face gently.
“You don’t have to be ready today,” he said. “Or tomorrow. Or next month. The plan can wait. The world can wait.”
His forehead rested against mine.
“But I needed you to know what I’ve been building in silence.”
My heart felt like it might break open.
For the man who dreamed of me without using my name publicly.
For the future he carried in secret.
For the freedom he still offered me.
“If I tell you I need time…” I said shakily.
“I will give you all of it,” he replied instantly.
“And if one day I say I’m ready?”
His voice lowered.
“Then I will introduce you to the world not as the woman I love… but as the woman I chose forever.”
I closed my eyes.
The world outside could wait.
For now, all that existed was this truth between us.
