Sonia’s POV Her words stayed with me longer than I wanted to admit. After she left, I went downstairs. Clara was at the dining table, dressed immaculately as always in a soft grey morning robe. She was on the phone, giving calm instructions to someone, probably the event team. When she saw me, she smiled warmly. “Good morning, dear. You’re up early.” “Couldn’t sleep.” “I suspected,” she said knowingly. Then she gestured for me to sit. “You should eat something. The day’s going to be busy.” “Busy?” “Of course!” She beamed, excitement flickering in her eyes. “Today’s the real celebration, the private reception for the partners and executives. The anniversary party was for the guests, but this morning is about the company’s heart.” Ah, right. The 25th anniversary wasn’t just one event
