Sonia’s POV He didn’t say anything while we walked. He didn’t have to. His hand stayed wrapped around mine, warm, steady, anchoring me in a way I hadn’t felt in days. Every step felt louder, like the hallway was holding its breath with us. He walked slowly too, almost cautiously… as though if he moved too fast, I might slip away again.
