Sonia’s POV The morning after the dinner felt like waking up in a different life. The sunlight came through my window in long, soft ribbons, warm, golden, and impossibly gentle, as though the world had decided to treat me kindly for once. For a long while, I just lay there, staring at the ceiling, trying to piece together everything that had happened the night before.
