Chapter 39

1905 Words

Sonia’s POV The next day passed in a haze of nervous anticipation. I tried to distract myself with books, chores, and Molly’s chatter, but nothing worked. I was starting to think you two would keep dancing around each other forever.” “Molly,” I said, half-laughing, half-panicked. “Don’t make it a big deal.” “Too late,” she said, grinning. “It’s already a big deal.” By the time seven o’clock came, I had changed my outfit three times. Finally, I settled on a simple soft-blue dress that Clara had once bought me for a family dinner.
