The Day They Found Me

I slowly walk out of the cottage feeling odd. It seems the farther i get away from the tiny hospital the more empty i feel. It feels like i forgot something meaningful to me in that cottage. Never mind, i tell myself. This is ridiculous, i went lone for a reason. i have reserved myself to the fact that being with someone means it comes with a pack. My experience with packs has never been good.

Dean is an alpha. Not a soon to be alpha, he runs his pack. I ran from my roles in the world of the alpha. i am not meant to be a Luna, and i am no one to be looked up to. 

So i put one foot in front of the other. i want to put as much distance between me and this place as possible. i have to go back and get my packs. the things I've collected over the last year. i hurry back to the lake and begin with my med pack. i walk through the dense the dense moss to the tree where my pack is tucked away. But its not there! why isn't it there? then i remember the pack that chased us down. why would they take a med pack? 

I hear crunching behind me, and then i hear more crunching. it is coming closer. i freeze. i am out here by myself and I'm being circled. and then i hear him behind me.

"come on sis, how long do you plan on keeping this up?" his voice cold and hard. it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. i slowly turn around sealing my face off from any emotion. 

"Well well James, you have nothing better to do then track your sister down? you should have better alpha things to do than search for a sister who has so clearly thrown her family name away. Don't you have more alpha duties to learn?" i say, narrowing my eyes and making sure my words drip venom. he just smirks and shakes his head.

"Do you really think that is the story mom told the pack? Didn't you hear? You're spending time traveling the packs before you marry Ben, learning from the best lunas out there." his words shock me. 

"well even if i were to come back, which i wont, they will be very shocked with the girl that comes back. the best lunas must be savages, because that's all the pack will see." i smile thinking I've got a point and that their lie will never fly.

"oh sweet sweet sister, you've grown less wise in your time away. our alpha and luna have everything planned, the way they always have. if you could just learn to submit to the plans you would be much happier." he states like that is the most logical statement in the world. i just stand there, not knowing what to say. 

"just come home Brooklynn." he request coming closer to me. i panic and take a step back, but i realize that during the conversation his minions closed in on me. I begin to spin around, looking them all in the face. they are circled around me so close there is no gap for me. i can only think of one thing. i let out the biggest scream i can manage before everything goes black.
