Isabella's POV My heart pounded loudly in my chest as I locked eyes with Caspian. I can feel the tension between us. When he took a step back I felt relieved. "You can back out now," he said, his gaze fixed on me. I stared back at him. I won't back out. I am of age to do that kind of thing. I am not a kid anymore I should stop acting reserved and...boring. I gathered all my courage. With shaky steps, I took a step forward and closed the distance between us. I wrapped my arms around his neck and without hesitation, I pressed my lips against his, seeking a connection. He stood still. He did not respond. Am I a bad kisser? I pulled away and bowed my head. I bit my lower lip when embarrassment crept into my system. I wanted to cry but before my tears could even fall he gently lifted my chin, forcing me to meet his gaze. "Have you kissed someone before?" he asked. I nodded my head. "Have you had s*x with someone before?" That question made me froze. Will he back out if he learns that I am still a virgin? "N-No," I stammered, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over me. Amara's words echoed in my mind, reminding me of my sister's insults. Perhaps Amara was right—just like Nicholas, Caspian might find me inexperienced and dull. "I don't do virgins, Isabella," he stated firmly, still holding my chin. I felt my heart sank at his words. I felt tears forming in the corner of my eyes once again. "Should I leave?" I asked. Caspian leaned closer, his face mere inches away. "Do you want to leave?" he questioned, his voice laced with intrigue. His face drew closer. My breathing grew heavy because of our distance. It wasn't fear that caused my chest to tighten but anticipation. "No," I responded with determination. I kissed him once again, and this time he responded eagerly, matching my passion. He claimed my lips while his hands explored my body with hunger. He held my back and lifted me from the floor. I immediately encircled my legs on his waist. He started walking and after a while, I felt the soft mattress against my back. He didn't stop kissing me and when his kisses trailed down my body pleasure filled my system. "Caspian," I moaned, my voice filled with desire. I held his hair tightly as he showered me with kisses. When I felt Caspian's hands removing the remaining garments I felt excited rather than afraid. Without warning, I felt a new sensation deep inside me. "Stay still," he whispered in my ear, pinning my arms above my head. "It hurts," I confessed, tears welling up in my eyes. Caspian claimed my lips again, the intensity of his kiss momentarily distracting me from the pain. After a while, he began moving inside me, slow and passionate, giving me time to adjust to the discomfort. But in a snap, our rhythm quickened until I felt something inside me was about to explode. I can't explain what it is but when it finally exploded it felt great. It was followed by a hot liquid poured on my legs. Caspian pulled out before he collapsed beside me. When it ended I remained staring at the ceiling, a mix of emotions swirling inside me. "Are you okay?" he asked. I swallowed hard, then turned my head to meet his gaze. I nodded, unable to find the words to express myself fully. "It hurts," I admitted, tears slipping down my cheeks. He stared at me intently for a moment, then stood up and started picking up his clothes. Without another word, he looked at me coldly. "I'll wait for you at the restaurant," he said as if nothing had happened between them. I felt a soreness within me, both physically and emotionally. The tears that I had been suppressing fell from my eyes. I harshly wiped it and let out a deep breath. "You made the right choice Isabella. Living with a stranger is better than living with those people who don't even feel sorry for betraying you," I fixed myself and took a quick bath to clean myself before heading towards the restaurant. "Caspian Lewis," I said to the waitress the moment I stepped inside the restaurant. The waitress then guided me to a table near the window where Caspian was sitting. When Caspian saw me, he motioned to the seat in front of him. I smiled politely and sat across from him. "Order anything you want," he said. I picked up the menu. I was used to eating at fancy restaurants, but ordering an expensive meal without any money made me feel uncomfortable. I started looking for the cheapest food on the menu, even though I knew I wouldn't find anything cheap there. "I'm still full," I said, but my stomach growled, contradicting my words. I felt embarrassed and at that moment I wanted to disappear into the ground. I buried myself in the menu to hide from the embarrassment. "Order anything you want, consider it as payment for what happened earlier," he said. When I heard those words, I felt extremely offended, but I chose to keep silent and just nod my head. I knew that a year with this man wouldn't be easy, but I'd have to endure. Just a year Isabella and you will be completely free from everyone. I knew my friends would willingly help me if I asked for their help, but I didn't want to burden them. Aside from that, I am afraid that they might betray her. I had completely lost my trust in the people closest to me, and for me, it was better to trust a stranger because the pain of their betrayal wouldn't linger for long. It would be easier to forget them since they didn't hold a special place in my heart. I looked at Caspian, still feeling insulted by his words. I smiled when something evil crossed my mind. Talking back might be risky but ordering expensive food is not since he insisted on it. "I would like to have..." I paused, searching for the most expensive dishes on the menu. I took a glance at Caspian again, and when our eyes met, I quickly brought my gaze back to the menu. Looking at him directly in the eyes made me uncomfortable. "Kobe beef," I started. "Truffle risotto, lobster thermidor, foie gras, caviar, chateaubriand, fois gras-stuffed quail, oyster rockefeller, turbot with champagne sauce," I could see that the waitress was having a hard time listing all my orders, so I stopped and turned my head to Caspian, who didn't seem to care that I was spending so much. "That's all," I said. After a while, the waitress returned with all the food I had ordered. Caspian was done eating his meal, so he leaned back in his chair and focused his gaze on me. "Can you finish all that?" he asked. I looked at him, then nodded my head. I swallowed hard and looked at all the food I had ordered. I couldn't finish it all, but for the sake of making Caspian pay for insulting me, I will devour all this food. I almost felt sick from stuffing all the food into my mouth, but I forced myself to finish everything. "Are you done?" Caspian asked. I swallowed the last bit of food before nodding my head. Based on my estimation, it was around one thousand euros, but Caspian didn't seem to care. He paid the bill without any questions and his reaction didn't satisfy me. I was disappointed that Caspian didn't even show the slightest annoyance. "Are you mad?" he asked while looking at our reflection on the elevator door. "No," I said lying when my face says it all. He didn't say anything. We quietly stepped out of the elevator and walked towards our room. "We will fly to New York tomorrow morning," he said before he made his way towards the bathroom. I didn't have anything to do so I decided to lay on the bed and allowed myself to rest. I felt overwhelmed by everything that had happened. I had no idea if Dad was looking for me or not, but I didn't care about that what mattered was that I would finally be free from everyone who caused me pain. I don't know how long I had been asleep but I woke up when I felt someone tapping my cheeks. As I opened my eyes, I saw Caspian. "We will leave in an hour. Wear this," he said, placing the branded clothes on the bedside table. I had no idea that I slept that long. I still felt sleepy but when I saw Caspian looking at me, waiting for me to do something I picked up the clothes she gave me and headed towards the bathroom. When the cold water touched my skin, my whole system woke up, and after half an hour of cleaning myself, I stepped out wearing a pink, flowy dress that reached my ankles. I sat in front of the mirror and started drying my hair while Caspian sat on the couch, typing something on his laptop. His eyebrows were furrowed as he looked at the screen seriously. When he lifted his head, I immediately looked away not wanting our eyes to meet. When I am done I just sit on the bed and patiently wait for the time to pass by. "Let's go," he finally said after a few minutes of waiting. I didn't say anything. I just quietly as we walked towards the rooftop. My eyes widened when I saw a helicopter. Fuck he's rich. The man I struck a deal with wasn't a typical rich guy, he's something else. "You'll just stand there?" he asked and that's when I realized that I froze in place so I hurriedly ran towards him. He handed me a headset so I took it and stepped inside the helicopter. When we were all set the helicopter started moving and as it got higher I felt heaviness in my heart while looking at Madrid slowly fading from my sight. But at the same time, a sigh of relief escaped my lips, thinking about the new life that I would have once we reached New York. I don't know how long our travel took but it was already dark when we arrived at New York. When the helicopter landed on a building I removed my headset and followed Caspian as he stepped off. I continued following him until we reached the penthouse. "You live here?" I can't help but ask. He nods his head like it's meant nothing while I keep on getting surprised and curious about how wealthy he is. When we reached the living room my forehead creased when I saw a paper on the table—a contract—a marriage contract. Caspian sat on the couch and scanned the whole document before signing it. Then he handed the pen to me "We have to seal our deal," he said. With shaking hands, I reached for the pen and sat beside him. I put my signature on the document, and when I was done, he placed it inside a folder. "We have a party to attend this evening. I'll call a designer to help you choose your gown," he said. True to his words, a designer arrived, along with a makeup artist. The fitting took an hour, and I felt tired from trying on all those gowns. I settled on a green dress with a sweetheart neckline that perfectly hugged her curves. I spent hours being dolled up by the designer and makeup artist that Caspian had sent. When the clock struck seven in the evening, we left his place. I had no idea where we were going I just let him drag me anywhere he wanted. If I knew that marrying this man would be this hectic I would probably back out. After a while, the car stopped in front of a huge hotel, and the moment Caspian opened the doorashes of the camera blinded my vision. "Mr Lewis, care to introduce your date tonight?" the reporter asked the moment we stepped out. Caspian turned his head on me and pulled me closer to his body before looking at the camera once again. "This is my wife, Isabella Rosewood," he said. Gasps could be heard from the crowd when he said those words. They bombarded him with questions, but Caspian ignored them and stepped inside. Businessmen flocked around him as if he were a celebrity. "Welcome back, Caspian," a man probably around his mid-50s greeted him with a quick hug. I looked at Caspian, completely confused about what was happening. When Caspian stepped inside the room, he became the centre of attention, which made it even more clear that I made a deal with someone bigger than I had thought. "Who are you, Caspian Lewis?" I asked as I watched him being worshipped by everyone.
