He hated the place where he currently worked—his boss hardly ever left her office, his co-workers never spoke to him, and he didn’t know why. They all moved around as if they were drugged, and it was creeping him the f**k out. And then there were the patrons…He shuddered. Never before had he been in a place where Pacurians visited as often as they did there. There weren’t many humans visiting the restaurant, and those who did seldom came back, and yet only humans worked there. It was how it was with low-paying jobs—humans did them, Pacurians did not. Money was tight, jobs few and far between, and as a human, there wasn’t any way for him to get better employment unless he managed to become a Pacurian’s assistan
