and wads of notes in banks
A job for which the clip has never
received any thanks.
The pin has been replaced by the
clip on new clothing
Thus reducing the risk of fingers
bleeding when unfolding.
Yet how often when a clip is seen
lying on the floor
It is quickly picked up and flung
out the door.
There are some paper clips that
are abused
When its seems like they no longer
can be used.
They are straightened and lose their
shape that they had at the start
Only to be used by some to scratch
and clean a dirty body part.
They tie objects together, a job
they were never designed for
They clean places the detergents
can’t get to anymore.
Don’t you sometimes feel like an
abused paper clip?
Unimportant, unappreciated as you
end your journey on life’s trip.
Often you have to do the work
that others refuse to do
But they make documents and notes
feel more important than you.
As a clip your character is dragged
through the dirt
Making you feel filthy and of
little worth.
Do you want to continue being
a paper clip? You choose
Documents are destroyed and
notes their value will lose.
When all around you things are
in a mix
As a good Christian you’ve been
able to discern and fix.
I salute you paper clip for always
lending a helpful hand
Even tho’ you are regarded as
being from an insignificant clan.
