Who has the authority to say “be
still and know that I am in charge?”
It is He who calmed the sea while
standing on a fishermen’s barge.
Who has the authority to say “I am
the great physician call on me?”
It is He who with His spit and clay
made a blind man see.
Who has the authority to say “ask
and I will supply your every need?”
It is He who with a boy’s lunch a
a large crowd was able to feed.
Who has the authority to say
“everything belongs to Me?”
It is He who in six days created
the earth, land and sea.
Who has the authority to say, “be
kind to those who are a bother?”
It is He who died for us because
He is our older brother.
Who has the authority to say “fear
not for I am with you always?”
It is He who sent us the Holy Spirit
to comfort us in our darkest days.
Who has the authority to say “I
am coming back to take you home,
To a place where no sorrow, no
fear or grief are known?”
It is Jesus the Son of God our
Savior, our King and Friend,
Who without a doubt has the
authority to claim His own again.
