The Wolf Unleashed

819 Words
The room was quiet, save for the sound of Emmaline’s shallow breaths. Her back pressed against the closed door, her chest rising and falling as she stared at Carter. His eyes glowed with the unmistakable light of his wolf, his shoulders heaving as though he were fighting an invisible battle. The air between them was thick with tension, a mix of her intoxicating scent and the raw energy radiating off him. “Carter—” she began, her voice shaky but teasing, the edges of a smirk curling on her lips. “Don’t,” he growled, his voice rough, cutting her off. The sound sent a jolt of electricity through her, and she swallowed hard. She could see it—how hard he was trying to hold himself back. His fists clenched at his sides, his jaw tight as he fought for control. But she could also see the cracks in his restraint, the way his wolf clawed at the surface, demanding to take over. Her scent was everywhere, a warm, heady blend that wrapped around him like a vice, tightening with every passing second. It was too much. Too sweet. Too tempting. “Carter,” she whispered again, softer this time, her voice shaking not with fear but with desire. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done?” he asked, his tone low and dangerous. Her lips curved into a faint smile, her eyes gleaming. “I think I do.” A deep growl rumbled in his chest, and he took a step forward, closing the distance between them. She didn’t back away, didn’t even flinch. If anything, her gaze sharpened, daring him to move closer. “You’ve been testing me,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “Pushing me, teasing me.” Her breathing quickened as he stopped just inches away, his presence overwhelming. “And?” “And now,” he said, his voice a deep, guttural rasp, “you’re going to deal with the consequences.” Before she could respond, he cupped her face in his hands, his touch firm but reverent. His lips crashed against hers, the kiss rough and demanding, years of pent-up desire pouring into the connection. Emmaline gasped, her fingers instinctively gripping his shirt as her body pressed into his. She had wanted this, craved this, and now that it was happening, the heat between them was almost unbearable. His lips moved against hers with a hunger that left her breathless, his hands sliding down to her waist, pulling her flush against him. She moaned softly, her body arching into his as the biting desire she’d been holding back finally took over. Carter’s control was slipping fast. He buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply as her scent consumed him. His wolf was right there, clawing at the edges of his mind, and he didn’t have the strength—or the desire—to fight it anymore. “Emmaline,” he growled against her skin, his voice thick with need. “Do you know what you’re doing to me?” She tilted her head back, her eyes hazy with passion. “Isn’t it obvious?” That was it. The last thread of his control snapped. With a deep, guttural growl, he sank his teeth gently into the soft curve of her neck, marking her as his. The sensation sent a wave of heat coursing through her, and she gasped, her hands gripping his shoulders for support. “Mine,” he growled, his voice rough and possessive. “Yes,” she whispered, her voice trembling with pleasure. “Yours.” Her admission seemed to fuel him further. His hands roamed over her body, claiming every curve, every inch of her as though staking his claim for the world to see. Emmaline felt a rush of triumph mixed with desire. She had wanted to break his control, to see the raw, untamed power he kept hidden, and now she had it. And it was everything she’d hoped for. Her own wolf surged forward, responding to his dominance with a fiery passion. She kissed him back with equal hunger, her nails digging into his shoulders as she let herself get lost in the moment. The world outside the small room faded away, the party, the pack—everything. All that mattered was him, the way he touched her, the way he made her feel. “Carter,” she whispered against his lips, her voice a soft plea. He growled in response, pulling her closer, his lips claiming hers again as the bond between them solidified. They were fire and chaos, passion and desire, two wolves finally giving in to the pull that had been simmering between them for far too long. And as the night deepened, there was no question in either of their minds. They were each other’s, and there was no going back.
