Chapter Fourteen The two Remington men, and Colby Hart were in the living room sipping their after dinner brandy. It was Mr. and Mrs. Hart’s first night home after their wedding and brief honeymoon. The day before Christmas Eve, the house was now full with both sets of Remington children there to celebrate. Amelia had put a beautiful dinner on the table and all should have been going well, but there were stirrings about. Johanna had been unexplainably testy all day. Listening to her sharp retorts, Amelia had the feeling she’d had some quarrel with Colby about returning home. As was typical, she took out her anger in the usual ways: quips, barbs, judgmental looks and a basically quarrelsome attitude.
