Michaela  All the coldness and confusion in Andreas’s demeanour vanished as soon as my claws carved a deep gouge across his chest. As he cried out in pain, I saw his anger blaze back to life. He struck back across my face – unclawed, but hard enough that my ears rang.  This wasn’t an empty dungeon – this was the cluttered ground of his private quarters, and even if I couldn’t bring my claws out again, I had more to fight with than I’d had last time.  I rolled aside and up into a crouch, grabbing the chair from behind the desk and shattering it across Andreas’s back.
