No one said anything about what happened till all the matches ended. So many people lost the rounds and Brant did not hesitate to kick them out, leaving just a few of us in the circle.
Then he lined up to address us. "You all can take a break starting tomorrow, due to the Blue festival we will be having. Get some rest and participate in activities as you wish, watch your manners by the way." He said.
"Yes sir!" We all shouted in unison, and I could feel the enthusiasm in the atmosphere.
We were all dismissed so we were about to leave when Brant said, "Cruz, Ash and Rowan, stay behind you three."
After everyone left, he started speaking again.
"Watch each other's back." He stated firmly and I just scoffed quietly. "Watch our backs my foot." I muttered under my breath. A while ago, he just tried to get someone killed and now he is giving advice? Tsk.
"Cruz, learn to control your strength." Brant continued and I was just tempted to put something in addition. "Emotions too." I said gently and I could literally feel Brant sending me a glare.
Ash chuckled quietly too but I could not get Cruz's reaction.
"You still give up easily, Ash." Brant took it from Cruz and continued, I wondered what it was going to be for me.
"And you..." It got to my turn and my heart pounded in my chest.
"You have a great potential...learn from these two." Brant concluded.
"Dismissed!"
I walked out thinking of the words he said to me. Why must I learn from Cruz and Ash? Why did it have to be them?
"Hey, wanna go catch some fun?" That was Ash. I scrunched my brows, feeling disgusted and annoyed at the same. He could still talk of catching fun? When most of his face was swollen, red, with bruises all over?
"Get yourself treated first." I said to him dismissively and he laughed.
"The only aid I could make use of is Cruz." Ash said and I furrowed my brows again, wondering what he meant.
Cruz was already walking ahead of us but he halted his steps and turned around to look at us.
A few moments later, we were in Cruz's room. The room was just his and he did not share it with anyone, he obviously did things to touch up the room's theme also because it was totally different from the one I shared with Austin.
The room looked standard, but he had some weird but beautiful taste in artworks, the room setting and all.
All through, Ash was being playful while Cruz did not say a word. I sat on the chair in the room while Ash sat at the edge of the bed.
I did not know what was going to happen but I just watched.
Cruz moved closer to Ash, moving his hands in some kind of questionable manner. Then he fisted one of his hands, raised it to Ash's face as if he was going to punch him, but then he opened up his hand with his palm directly facing Ash's face.
Right before me, I saw Ash's bruises cleared and his skin turned to normal.
I had never been so shocked in my entire life. Of course I knew of healing potions but definitely not a particular being embodying it.
He healed every other part of Ash's body including the broken bones and Ash became just fine again. But then, Cruz started bleeding from his nostrils.
"You...you are bleeding." I went alert immediately but he did not act surprised neither did he panic. He simply placed his hand at the nostrils to stop the bleed.
Ash chuckled insensitively. "Seems like you haven't used your healing abilities in a while."
Cruz stopped after he was done and then went to get a tissue paper to clean up himself. Seeing that he did not respond to what Ash said, it must be the truth.
"Ugh!" Ash sighed. "Thank you for fixing me. This could have taken a few days usually." He said so causally.
"You two, get out!" Cruz sharply commanded and without further ado, I got up.
He and Ash were not on good terms so I was super curious as to why he healed Ash again today, after hitting him non-stop in the boxing ring. Would he bring him back to life if he had died in that ring?
I was pissed at everything that happened that day and just wanted to avoid those two guys.
But whatever Brant talked about back there, sounded like fun and I could not just wait for that break I had been wanting.
I walked back into the room and met Austin. I guess he was a clean freak 'cause dude was always cleaning.
"You are back. How was the training?" He asked and I just sighed.
"Hectic! As expected."
He laughed. "A good day with Cruz and Ash in the same space? I doubt it."
"Let's hear it." I indulged him.
"Well, many of the guys believe Cruz is more obsessed with leadership than any other thing. He feels like he can save everyone."
I was not happy with the comment he had passed whether it was true or not, I opposed it inwardly.
"Are they that bad?" I raised a brow. After all, I was just a girl trying to pull through with life while disguising myself in my dead brother's appearance. I was rethinking the whole thing I got myself into.
There was no way I could run from the academy at that time because even if I did successfully, Malric would catch me almost immediately and unalive me.
So I need to just stay and learn.
"It's more fun if you find it out yourself." Austin responded, smiling. There was this kind of energy around him that I could not pinpoint but it was there.
All of a sudden, he stopped what he was doing and went to his bed to grab something.
"Dinner time.”
