Let's Be Friends

As much as I wanted to stay back and rest my ass in the room, I could not. Austin had told me earlier how everyone must participate in the Blue Festival activities. I even considered hiding myself but I could not. Getting into trouble was the least I looked forward to. I woke up and I went to our wardrobe before I went into the shower, so I could change clothes in there, and I realized that my space which used to be scanty was now stacked up with clothes, new ones at that. I furrowed my brows, wondering if I had opened the wrong wardrobe. I closed it to recheck but it was actually mine, so who put new clothes in them? Austin was on his own bed, having a quiet time but I could care less about disturbing him. "Hey man, did you put clothes in my wardrobe space?" He shook in his head in response and I had no reason to doubt his answer as much as I did not see a reason why he would lie to me. So who put clothes in there? I examined some of the clothes and saw that they were male clothes. Some pant trousers, shirts, round neck Tees and the rest. I almost screamed the moment I saw a breasts-binder neatly folded and placed in between the clothes. Someone knows...that I am a girl! *** I could not think straight for a while. In actual fact, my legs wobbled and I had to go sit on my bed for a while. Who could it be? I could place it but I suspected Cruz and Ash. It had to be one of them. I had to come up with a plan. I couldn't continue living here, walking on eggshells, knowing someone knows my true identity and is watching from a far or close distance. I needed to know whoever it was, so I came up with a plan. After the shower, I dressed up in a white shirt and black pants trousers, then wore the black loafers that came along with the shady package in my wardrobe. There were toiletries in there as well. Sanitary pads, body spray, perfume, body lotion for guys, and some other things. Before I left the room, I had to hide the sanitary pads properly, I was not up for impromptu questions that would yield no reasonable answer. I set my wardrobe lock immediately because it didn't matter to me before now. I stared at my hair in a wall mirror, it was growing fast again, and the length had reached my neck, but I didn't pack it, I just left it down. I stepped out of the room with the masculine aura and charisma, I needed to find whoever it was that sent those clothes and I could get a clue through this. Dining hall first. I stepped in, determined to watch people's reactions and read them so well. I grabbed my breakfast, we were having pancakes and eggs, with a cup of coffee, the first food I had in there that made sense to me. I found a quiet corner space to sit and watched every single person in the hall as I ate. Funny enough, nobody intruded on me throughout the time I ate. Ash would normally have, even Cruz but no one came around. That in itself was suspicious, but I realized they were not in the hall at all. Subconsciously, I wondered if they were causing trouble somewhere. Just when I was having these thoughts, some set of guys surrounded the table I was sitting on and slowly, I looked up. I recognized one of them and I just needed no one to tell me where they were coming from. They are obviously Edgar's guys, the one whose turf I was honored to walk into. I could literally perceive trouble in the air and I almost lost my appetite. I dropped my fork, making a sound. "What are you guys? Crows? 'Cause tell me why you are hovering around me." I toughened up and challenged them. "He even has the mouth to talk." One of them said and scoffed, then another took it up from there. "Whatever, you are coming with us." It was the guy that had tried to hit me with a plank from behind. "I believe you guys are not blind. Grab a meal while you are here." I replied, digging more into my food. Then he threw my meal off the table right in front of me. That was one of the extremes...and I got pissed off. I prepared my fist immediately and was ready to throw it at him, and just right that second, someone stepped in. "Excuse me, this is a dining hall." It was a very unfamiliar voice and I was right, because upon looking at the person, I did not recognize him. "And you are?" The plank guy, who obviously led the Edgar team faced the new guy. The new guy was smiling so broadly, and I was taken aback for the first time since I got here, he looked warm and friendly unlike every other human in that sphere. "Me? I work in the kitchen, the director for food and nutrition." He replied and those guys looked taken aback, their emotions twitched and I noticed it. "He is a part of the school board?" One of them whispered and my surprise came late too, but I did not hesitate to show it. I turned to look at the guy again, he was so young and looked average, so how did he become a part of the board of directors? Those guys didn't dare, all their boastings were gone and wings clipped, I literally smiled faintly. At once, they all bowed to a ninety degree. "We are sorry for causing trouble." They said in unison and he just nodded causally. "It's fine. You can go." I guess the worse that could happen was they getting expelled, and that would not be good, of course. I knew at the back of my mind that those guys were not truly repentant and that they would definitely be back for me, but I was glad to have rid them off for now. "Thank you.." I said to the director, clearing my throat, then he laughed. He raised his left wrist, tapped the screen of his smart watch and muttered a few words. Then he turned me again, "You can have your seat." I did and he sat opposite me. I stared at his face again, he looked around my age mate and I could not help but ask again. "Are you actually...a director?" He laughed again. "No one knows this. I don't like the attention, but...I am." He responded. Somehow, I still felt like I did not know the weight of that position he was in, but he had to be in a powerful position. Soon enough, some servers came around with a tray of meal and placed it in front of me. I was surprised, and so I turned to him. "Mr. Director, what is this?" "Those guys threw your food, so I thought to replace it." He replied. "That was not necessary." I said to him. "It was. By the way, the name is Kian Chip, not Mr. Director." "How would I call you by your name?" To be realistic, that was my honest thought. He chuckled. "Looks like we are age mates, so why not?" "Well...I am just a student and you are-" "A student as well." He chipped in and I just let out a soft laugh. "Fine, Kian." All through, it took hard work for me not to consciously and subconsciously release my girlish style. "Your name?" "Rowan." I replied. "Rowan, let's be friends.”
