Black Envelope

"I found him!" The person said again, and I just knew it was Cruz, I had not heard his voice in a while. I was still yet to realize what was going on though. Murmurs went on around, then it sank in..I was the Alpha? We all waited impatiently for the game coordinators to give confirmation to the claim raised and to my utmost surprise, Cruz was correct. Kian had actually announced it and I could not stop considering the fact that Kian probably approached me before the festival to mark me the Alpha. I could sense how impressed some of the stakeholders were despite the fact that they were masked and all. Cruz had just gained himself a new rank in the academy too. We had so many fun activities till around 3 AM when we dispersed and returned to our various dorms. Austin and I walked back together and I couldn't just stop commending him for his performance. "You play the guitar so well, and your vocals are.." "Good." He chipped in and we laughed. "It's good to have a guy say that though. It's been girls mostly saying sweet things as such whenever I am outside the academy." He expressed himself freely and I was not sure how to respond to him. If only he knew I was a girl... We got back into the room and totally crashed in our beds, feeling so tired. For me, I felt every bone in me was going to shatter anytime soon if I did not sleep, so I closed my eyes and let my body get some rest. "Tomorrow's going to be very long." Austin muttered inherently and slept off immediately, then in response to his funny act, I scoffed and closed my heavy eyes. As if it was five minutes later, I heard the loud sound of a trumpet and was jolted out of my sleep abruptly. My head ached so bad as I struggled to open my eyes. It was f*****g morning!!! It was so bad and glancing at the table clock, I saw that it was 8 AM. How did time pass so fast? I turned to the other side and saw that Austin was still sleeping deeply. "Is he dead?" I thought aloud, because how would he not hear the sound of the trumpet? I guessed it was a good one for me though, so I did meditation for a short while and then got out of bed to wash up. I turned on the shower after brushing my teeth and started to bathe. I felt so relieved and free, that I could unbind my breasts and have water touch every part of my body. About two minutes later, I heard a quick knock on the door and I literally went into a frenzy. "Austin?" "Yes, I need to pee, it's urgent." He said and my mind went up in chaos. Pee? All of a sudden? Was he not sleeping deeply just now? What sort of crazy drama was I about to enter? Getting caught did not just come with being expelled like a normal school would operate, but I could even get killed here, if I got caught at any point in time. I panicked like crazy in that bathroom after turning off the shower. I had locked the door from behind but then we were supposed to share the toilet, so it'd be just unfair on his part. Suspicions could come up too, given that guys were used to seeing each other's bare body just like ladies do too. "I...I am almost done." I stuttered and tried to get myself together. "Oh shoot! When the f**k will you be done?" He swore and then the next thing I heard was the sound of a door getting shut! That had to be the front door and I guess he went out. I hurriedly completed my bath, binded my chest and put on my outfit for that morning before leaving the bathroom. He was not back yet, so I laid on the bed and picked a book to read. Suddenly, the door was opened ajar and I sat up immediately, staring at it, expecting someone to come in. "Austin? Who's there?" There was no response, but I noticed a black envelope dropped right at the door step, so I went there to pick it up. I looked out at the hallway immediately to see if I would see the one who dropped it, but there were so many guys passing so I could not say if it was this one or the other. A black envelope...I was not sure what it was supposed to mean but I opened it and saw a white paper inside. That in itself was a meaning...a black envelope and a white paper, the colors were in total contrast and if anything, that was describing me. I was being truthful to myself and did not even think so hard, because the answer was not. I was the one claiming to be a man whereas I was a lady. I closed the door immediately and placed my back against it, my heart was pounding so hard. This person knew about it but meant business. What would I do? I checked the white paper but it was black, as expected. So the colors of the package in itself was the message. It was driving me crazy, that someone knew about me but was taunting me from afar. Then I tore both the former envelope and white paper, then threw the shredded pieces into the bin in our room, and returned to my bed. "Is there a cause for alarm?" I asked myself loudly as I stared at the ceiling. I wondered what the person wanted too, because if it was their goal to expose me and make me suffer for it, they would have done that a long time ago. But this person kept sending me secret messages which implied that they could not reveal my secret yet. *** I could not get the whole envelope thought out of my head so I went out to the gym substitute we were using for now, till the gym building was restored at least. I got on a treadmill and started out slowly, increased the speed per minute and I was running in no time. I managed to bring my mind together to focus and get off the matter for a while. "First time seeing you here." I heard Ash's voice and realized he was running on the treadmill beside mine. I almost rolled my eyes. "Let's hope you don't burn down this place again." I muttered under my breath because I was not up for too much trouble that morning, at least not anything I could not handle. "I just felt like it.." I replied to him. "Are you going to be free during the festival today?" He asked and I shook my head, then I started controlling the speed at which I was going on the treadmill. "Why?" I managed to catch my breath and asked. "We need one more team member. You will spar tonight, but it's going to be a blindfolding session." At that point, my treadmill had slowed down and was ready to stop, his too, as if he was going at my pace. "We are going to be blindfolded?" I raised my brows and he nodded, looking more excited than ever. "No." I stated firmly but after thinking it through, I agreed to it. "Training starts this morning," He declared, and I frowned. "Not until after I've taken breakfast." I placed him in a quick condition and right there, a deal was sealed before we went to the dining hall to have our breakfast. As we walked back, I secretly observed Ash, his body language, speech and all. He was on the list of those I suspected to know of my true identity. "Maybe he is the one playing games on me,." I thought inwardly, and then we got into the midst of so many students. I had no idea where they were coming from or heading to but they were scattered around, and before I knew it, I found a white little piece of paper in my palm. I was taken aback. What just happened? I looked around but no one in particular. "What's that?" I could sense care in Ash's voice but I shook my head softly. "It's nothing." As we walked on, I opened the paper when I saw that Ash's attention was stolen by something else, then I saw 'Elena' boldly written in the paper. My heart started beating so hard again, it was driving me crazy already. Who the heck was trying to take away my sanity by doing this? Funny how I could not voice it out because, of course, I was a girl and I would not want any attention at all. I squeezed up the paper till it became very little and dumped it before I went into a deep thought.
