I totally forgot about my mission that morning, and after Kian left to attend his own work, I left the dining hall.
I met Ash the moment I stepped out. "Where have you been, man?" He asked me the moment he saw me.
"Eating."
"Wanna come with me to do something fun?" He asked and honestly, I became so curious as to what it was, so I went with him to heavens-know-where.
We arrived there, and it was a shooting training ground.
On a part of the field, some people were doing archery, but the other part was empty.
So Ash walked me to the other part and then we stopped.
"What are we here to do?" I inquired, putting my hands in my pockets.
"Learn how to shoot." He simply replied. I did not expect that, but I was willing to explore it.
"Why do you want to train me... willingly on that?" I asked again, not containing my curiosity.
"We are going to be real guys as it stands, we should help each other." He said and then paused. "I am so sure Brant would have us do a shooting brawl after our training resumes, and it's so obvious you don't have any skills, not even swordry. This is the twenty-first century and trust me, true blood packs and rogues use guns more these days." He explained.
"Sounds like you have experiences." I was dragging the conversation on but I loved it, it was an impactful one too.
"Once. "Almost died at the hands of a rogue at age eight when I even had a gun with me but couldn't handle it." He replied and I was quite intrigued.
"Interesting!"
Soon, some guys came around carrying big bags. They dropped the bags as soon as they got to where we were and Ash nodded at them. "Good job." Those guys left almost immediately and I turned to Ash.
"Your guys? You have turf here too?" I asked.
"Nah, it's too dirty for me. I only asked for a favor."
Soon, I was putting on shooting gear and I returned to the field with him.
We went on the first round. He taught me about the kind of guns there were, theoretically and practically, shooting angles and their effects.
It was something I was interested in, so I learned faster than ever.
"What do you think?" He asked, looking enthusiastic about the whole thing.
"Catching up? I think I am ready for my first test."
"Love the sound of that!" he said, and then went ahead to arrange an empty glass bottle at a distance, giving each space.
He ran back, and then I was ready to make use of a rifle.
Par! Par! Par! The deafening sound filled the atmosphere for a few seconds as I took down four of the five bottles.
"Not bad," Ash commented, and I felt good about it.
After doing a few more rounds of training, we wrapped it up and started arranging the guns and bullets back into their appropriate spaces.
"Do you want to join the shooting team...for the Blue Fest?"
At that point, a consciousness suddenly set in. I was forgetting myself and adapting too quickly, with the wrong people also...
"Hm, no." I had to let it out in a way that wouldn't make him feel bad. I was getting too close, and I had a bad feeling about it.
"Okay!"

I thought I had enough for the day until someone approached me after Ash and I separated ways, asking me if I would be interested in modeling for the upcoming festival.
"Oh my goodness! "I see your double eyelids, just like a woman's, you look too good." The guy was all over the place, doing like a woman would behave.
He gave off the 'gay' vibe too.
"No!" I firmly replied, getting him off me.
People were all around and I had a feeling more disturbance would come my way, so I had to think of a restrained area to keep my head.
The library. Why had I never thought of that?
I walked all the way down to the huge library, which was not in common sight, and got inside. Then I made some quick registration at the librarian's desk before I further went in, in search of books to read.
There were only a very few people in the library, nerds as you would call them.
I grabbed a leadership - themed book and sat on one of the relaxing chairs in the area I was in.
I finished it up in a sitting, could not stop flipping the pages as I stayed hooked. I was a big fan of books, but I had not read any in a few weeks and I just felt like a part of me was restored as I read that book.
I glanced at the wall clock in the library and saw that it was almost dinner time, so I borrowed and history textbook before leaving straight for the dining hall.
It was getting dark, and people were hardly around since it was time for dinner, so it was quiet as I walked down.
Ravenlake was surrounded by a very thick, large forest owned by the school itself. Something in me yearned to run out and have fun in freedom, but I could not underestimate Malric's abilities on finding me, so I stayed and tamed my yearnings.
All of a sudden, I kept having a sharp pain in my right ear for a few seconds and I held it with my hand, trying to figure out what was wrong. It stopped, and then it was like the ear got more opened and exposed.
I could hear the sound of a sword, like someone was training... sparring with oneself.
I stood there and listened, looking around to see where the sound was coming from.
Soon, I stopped hearing it. I felt quite relieved because there was so much noise to my ears, until I heard sounds of running steps.
My senses went on the alert immediately, because I knew whoever it was, was coming for me. But before I could blink, the person was behind me, with a sharp, shiny sword to the side of my neck. It was half an inch close to my skin and I fisted my hands.
I was quite shaken up to be honest, but I turned around to see who it was.
Cruz.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He asked me coldly. It sounded like he was raging madly and I could not even muster up courage to ask him what it was about. I mean, who was I? And what solution would I give to it if he had told me.
"On my way to the dining hall." I replied to him after swallowing hard.
"Run along." He said in a commanding voice immediately and I obeyed. I knew better than to provoke him even more.
