Too Much Blood

1008 Words
The moment Kian saw that everyone was distracted, he grabbed me by the arm and dragged me out of the place. I continued vomiting blood and honestly, I was losing stamina at that point. But I woke up shortly after, and met myself at the academy's medical center, in a hotel-like room. I never knew somewhere like this existed in the medical center. I sat up immediately and saw Kian standing right there in the room. "Man, are you sure you can sit?" He asked and I nodded. "You lost too much blood." He said and I could attest to it, I felt so light. It was then I noticed a drip bag connected to the back of my hand. "I guess the academy is in chaos right now." I turned to Kian, who had now moved closer to where I was. "You bet." The moment he responded, something occurred to me. If someone gets moved to an hospital, the doctor has to use the stethoscope on their chest, and that would require unbuttoning the shirt or tearing it apart totally. Sharply, I moved my eyes to my chest, my heart pounding so fast in my chest. But, I was still in the blue shirt I wore earlier, then I let out a sigh of relief. However, it was too early. If they didn't test me, how would they have given me meds? Maybe first aid? But, even first aid requires some foreknowledge of the patient's health state. It was driving me nuts and I almost shouted. "Are you okay? "Should I call the physician?" Kian broke into my thoughts and I looked up to him, cleared my throat and responded. "No, it's nothing." I felt like I was going crazy, and that I needed air, but I could not just tell Kian to leave. Suddenly, I heard a beep. It was from his smartwatch. Kian tapped the screen and his countenance changed, staring at the watch before he looked up towards me. "I have to go, Rowan. I have things to." I nodded immediately, giving him my blessings if that was needed. "I understand." He left the room and I let out a deep, shaky breath. Then I got off the bed, and wheeled the drip bag stand with me to the window side. I peeped out through the window and since the room seemed to be on the second floor, I got a better view of the academy. It was silent everywhere and I barely saw a soul move around. I wondered what the move of the school authorities were after the sudden alarm that the glowing medallion went missing right in front of our eyes. All of a sudden, the door to the room I was in flung open and I saw men in all black, wearing black masks, walk in. There were about five. "What can I--" I was about to raise a question when two of them stepped forward and grabbed each of my arms, still being careful with my drip bag and walked me out of the room. "What's going on? Who are you??" I tried to kick hard but nothing was working. What was funnier was that all through the elevator ride, till we got to the medical center's reception, no one tried to even stop the guys or even question them. It looked as though every single person that saw us were humbled, as though they wished to step in but didn't have a choice. Like that, I was dragged out of the center. ... I was taken to the administrative block, somewhere I never had interest in being. All the way from the second floor, into a room with the door indication 'Common room'. I smelt trouble literally. The room was not dark like anyone would expect it to be, it was clean, all round, painted all white, no shadows, full light. What were they trying to do? There were two chairs in the room, and I sat down on one of them. While I was still trying to wrap my head around the current situation, some of the guys stepped out and another one in a full red wine suit walked in. He had a mask on, like that of the stakeholders. Immediately I realized the personality, I took my face down, avoiding eye contact. "Did you do something wrong?" His voice came through, hoarse, masculine, intimidating. For someone to be made a stakeholder in Ravenlake academy, they would not be ordinary, in terms of influence, wealth and spirituality. So if I made a slight mistake, my true identity would be found out. I took care of myself as my priority. He sat on the chair opposite me and crossed his legs. "Where is the glowing medallion?" He asked and I furrowed my brows. "I have no idea where it is." I replied to him, still avoiding his eyes. "Explain why you are avoiding my eyes." He commanded. "I am a mere student," I responded to him, knowing fully well that he'd catch it. "Hierarchy huh? You are making me talk too much." I could sense that he was getting riled up already so I looked up at his face. Such a hot-tempered jerk. "I am sorry, sir. I really...don't know anything about the medallion." He didn't say anything for a while and just stared at me, then a guy stepped into the room. He paid obeisance to the stakeholder sitting in front of me. "How far?" "No one is saying anything." The guy informed the stakeholder. From the look of things, it seemed like they had taken other students into the common room one after the other, to interrogate them. "Take him away." I was dragged out of the administrative block and dropped in front of my dorm. The dormitory was in total chaos when I arrived there. I dashed into my room immediately. Austin was there with his other friends. He had bruises all over. "What's going on, Austin?" I inquired the moment I got in.
