The reason why Derrick did not want to hear Robert's side of the story is because of the promise that he had made to Charles. They had this deal of working together to bring him down and he didn't want to feel sorry for him by listening to what he had to say and end up not fulfilling his promise to hum. He wanted to focus on the plan and not allow himself to be distracted especially now that things are going on very well.
He was never going to foster a good relationship with Robert unless he gets Nina back into his life. Till then, they were going to be sworn enemies, how dare he steal the love of his life from him?
How could he be so selfish? Couldn't he date other women his age? Why did he specifically target Nina? Was it to spite him? This is partly why he was
