46 Reverberations Thom doesn’t know how it happens but the next time he is aware, he is sitting on the kitchen floor. His elbow is throbbing. A chair is lying beside him. Aunty Val is peering over the table at him but doesn’t move to help. “Did you hear me, Thom?” “I’m not sure”, Thom mumbles, cradling his elbow with his other hand.
