The Bonds Between Us

Chapter 6

'Let me have you...And I'll make you fall for me.'

A groan slipped out of her lips as she was gently pushed to the wall of the balcony, still kissing passionately. They could even taste the wine they just had and heat emerge easily from their bodies.

It's been awhile that they missed each other, long enough for them to completely forget the feeling of being together, after Daehan's birth.

On the bed, Hyerin suddenly felt embarrassed by looking directly into his eyes as he stared down into her shaky orbs.

It's been long enough for her to feel shy in front of her own husband. It felt like the first time and she tried not to show it. Her heart beat fast and her breath hitched. Same to him, he could feel how his heart skipped beat every second.

But seeing how she was blinking shyly, he softened. Even though she's a bit cold, she's still a girl after all and he could easily see that he's the only one she ever had.

"You look drunk." He whispered playfully and she widened her eyes.

"Your face is completely red." He reached his finger to caress her hot cheek, teasing.

"I'm..." She was out of words, bitting her lips.

"It's because of the wine or something else?" Jungkook continued to tease her. He suddenly found it's fun to play with her than ever.

"What do you want me to say? Because of the wine? Because of you? Or because we're about to have..." He captured her lips before she could finish her sentence.

His arms wrapped around her body pulling her even closer, killed all the gaps between them because they were going to become one at that moment.

The more they touched, the more they found the familiarity of each other's body but with the differences feelings from before.

It was different. Yes, it was not the same. To her, she didn't feel like it was a mistake anymore. And to him, he realized that he needed to do more for her, not just to fulfill their l**t and needs as a couple.

Unconsciously, a moan came out of her small lips and Hyerin quickly held it back in. Jungkook smiled at her shyness.

He had to admit that she's still as beautiful as before, even after giving birth to a son.

Upon noticing his eyes, Hyerin quickly cupped his face and stopped him from looking down to her bare chest. Jungkook smirked taking her hands from his face and pressed them to the mattress gently.

"Why need to hide...when everything is mine?" He teased with a mischievous smirk. Her hot face grew hotter. She didn't have a chance to protest as he started to attack her neck with kisses and she let out a hiss.

If it's in the past, she would feel empty and chaos in her own head but then...it's strange, she could feel how she relaxed and enjoy the moment with him. Because she trusted him and he made her feel that way.

Instead of letting her go, he hugged her close to him which she blinked her eyes in surprise, never that he pulled her into his embrace like that before.

"Wae?" With her teary eyes, she asked lowly, stayed still in his arms which secured her small frame from behind.

"Wae? What was it?" He asked back tightening the hug.

"..." Instead of saying more, she remained silent.

"Are you still thinking that it's a mistake?" His question pulled her attention. He turned her body to him which she quickly avoided his eyes.

"Rin..."

"I'm tired. Good night." She mumbled slowly closing her eyes and it made him to let out a sigh. He still didn't have a chance to clear everything with her. Whenever he leaded a deeper talk she would cut it off every time. She's still keeping the wall between them though.

But although it's still awkward, he knew he's stepping slowly into her heart.

His nose reached her head as his arms pulled her closer and drifted to sleep.

It's Saturday morning. Hyerin was busy preparing some food for her small family because they were going to the Zoo as Daehan's wish. The little boy was so happy upon knowing that he finally be able to see the elephants and animals.

"Omma, can I wear my penguin suits?" Daehan asked running into the kitchen, still in his small towel around his lower body.

"Aww, you're still not changing?" She asked putting the last box into the basket.

"Ne, and Appa? Omma, can I wear it?" He pleaded with his pout, blinking cutely.

"But it's summer." Hyerin said walking toward him and picked her son up.

"So I cannot wear it?"

"You will feel hot..."

"But I want to wear it. Omma, I want it." Daehan started to whine.

"Han-ah..." Hyerin frowned deeper as he cried out. Sometimes, Hyerin almost forgot that he's still a five years old boy since he's always behave well. But looked like he really wanted it this time, so he needed to get it.

"What's wrong?" Jungkook asked walking out of the room with his camera bag.

"Appa, Daehan want to wear penguin suit!" The boy cried out at his Appa asking for help from his father. The father glanced at his wife before taking the little one from her arms.

"And Omma didn't let you wear it?" He asked wiping the tears away from Daehan's pink cheeks.

"Ne..." Daehan cried harder hugging his Appa's neck. Hyerin gave him a warning not to spoil the boy.

"What did Omma say?"

"It's hot...but I can wear it. Jinjja, Appa." He stubbornly stated it and Hyerin shook her head.

"I'm going to change." She said walking away letting Jungkook to handle his son.

And finally, the father could not resist his son's tears. Daehan skipped cutely with his penguin costume to their car.

"We're going to the Zoo!!! Woo hooo!!!" Happily the little boy hopped onto the car as his father opened the door for him.

The family arrived the zoo and Jungkook prepared his camera. He started to take pictures of his wife and son while they were walking, giggling, and playing together.

Daehan had so much fun in the place. Hyerin and Jungkook noticed how animals attracted him by types. The little boy even told them that he wanted to be an animal biologist.

"What do you think?" Hyerin asked looking at Daehan who was busy feeding the animals with the zoo keeper.

"If this is what he wants, we have no choice but to support him." Jungkook said stuffing his hands in his pockets. She remained silent as he turned to look at her. His lips curled into a smile, staring at her beautiful side profile.

And before noon, they settled by the lake and had lunch. Because of hunger, Daehan dug in quickly.

"Aigo, eat slowly, will you?" Hyerin said wiping the dirt from his small mouth.

"He must be hungry..." Jungkook chuckled before taking out his phone as it rang.

"It's me..." He got the call and his expression changed. Hyerin looked at him as he stared at her while listening to the other side.

"Arraseo, I'll be there." Jungkook sighed putting his phone down.

"I'll call Mr. Kim to pick you both up. There's something urgent come up, I have to go now." His voice was full with concern as she dropped her eyes down.

"I understand. But you should have lunch first." Although she said those word, he knew it showed disappointment.

"I'm sorry. Han-ah, Appa have work to do. You'll play with omma, ok?" He said patting his son's hair.

"Waeyo?" The boy looked up at his father with his big innocent eyes.

"See you at home." Jungkook said pecking Daehan's head before standing up and ran off. Hyerin looked at his back and let out a big sigh.

The young chief ran out of his car and headed toward the place where the crime took place.

"Where is he?" He immediately asked as his assistant approached him with his book.

"He's taken to the hospital now. He was found by a man who was jogging by at 10 and was reported to be beaten by a group of men. Some people saw a van drove this way and perhaps they dropped him 100 meters away from here." Woohyuk reported quickly while Jungkook stepped carefully into the line.

"So he was caught during the investigation." The chief mumbled walking slowly along the bank of the river while Woohyuk followed behind.

"Who sent him?" Jungkook asked squatting down to see the tires prints on the ground.

"He's from investigation team, I once saw him with Chief Choi." Upon hearing the name, Jungkook closed his eyes scratching his forehead.

"Shh, so he's still trying to get Min Yoongi." He stated standing up.

"Yes, look like he doesn't give up easily."

"Let him be." Looking away, he said carelessly.

"But...Sir..."

"Give the detective case to him and we do what we should do only. Meet me after this." The chief said and went to his car and drove off. Woohyuk shook his head before going to talk to a police.

Meanwhile Hyerin and Daehan still roamed around the Zoo. She kept playing with her phone, wanting to call him and asked if everything fine. But she didn't want it to be too obvious.

"Omma, when will Appa come back?" Daehan suddenly asked. Hyerin sighed before turning to smile at the little boy.

"What did Appa say before he left, Han?" She asked back making the boy to frown in thinking.

"He said, see me at home."

"Keurae. Let's wait for Appa at home, ne?"

"Yes, Omma." The boy saluted earning a smile from his mother.

"Good boy."

The sound of the car door cracked open and it woke Woohyuk up. Jungkook gave a cup of coffee to him and he nodded as thank.

"Perhaps, do you have a brother, Woohyuk?" Jungkook asked and the younger turned to him in surprise.

"Yes, wae?" He asked back as the older drove off.

"No wonder. He looks like you."

"You met him?"

"Hm, you can say that." Jungkook smiled and Woohyuk shrugged. Sometimes, he couldn't understand his new boss. He's just too dark to see through.

"And why are you doing this? Shouldn't you delegate all the works to the detectives?" Out of curiosity, he asked.

"They're all delegated. So I have no choice but to work this myself. Wae? You don't like working with me?" Playfully, he teased his staff.

"Ani, I just don't know because I didn't attend the meeting."

And that night, he couldn't go home and worked all night with his assistant, although it's weekend.

On the other hand, Hyerin got worried and mad at the same time.

It's weekend, still he couldn't take off his hands of the work. More importantly, it's Daehan's birthday the next day.

Would he make it? Or he would miss it again this year? And she wanted to know, what is family to him?
