The Bonds Between Us

Chapter 20

On a nice long shiny road, ran a fast modern car with a beautiful girl who proudly running her fingers through her hair. Her black sunglasses reflected a jet black car behind which was trying to follow her for awhile. Her smirk appeared as the car ran next to hers. His lustful orbs met her brown ones and she smiled seductively.

And before we knew it, they were in room of a hotel hugging and kissing after having a glass of wine.

Looking at the city life, Hwahyung crossing her arms clutching her bath rope tight around her body.

"Is it hard living without your father?" He asked while hugging her from behind.

"It's unexpected yet tough. He was our everything but then he's gone, everything was gone." Silently, she sobbed. Without her knowing he smirked on her head.

"I'll make sure to find the one who took him away from you as a...prosecutor. I promise." Woohyun whispered and she nodded as a thank.

The chief's car stopped in front of the hideout and Woohyuk looked around while gettingg out of the car.

"Boss, what is this place?" He asked following behind Jungkook.

"Another Office" Jungkook replied briefly and Woohyuk shrugged wanting to ask more but stopped as he found himself in a room with four unfamiliar guys that he couldn't believe that they were secret agents becausee of their visuals.

"They're secret agents who I always work with. You can trust them and you guys can trust him. He's my assistant, Ahn Woohyuk." Jungkook introduced and they nodded. Woohyuk looked around and felt amazed with the place.

"Let go to the point. Woohyuk, I brought you to work not to amire this entire place." The chief said and they gather around a table in the middle of the room. On the opposite, two LCD screen appeared video call from two people, one from Kim Namjoon and another one was unknown, only blank screen was showing but it was being watched.

"Are you ready, Gloss? Joonie Hyung?" Taehyung asked turning on the projector and Jungkook displayed a few pictures on the screen.

"Who are they?" Hoseok asked playing with his phone.

"Choi Kyuwon, Kim Kunjoo, the late Oh HwangIn, Chief Choi..." Jin named out the people on the screen and they nodded.

"They're all connected and expected to have something in this project. Meanwhile, there's one thing about Chief Choi and Ahn Woohyun..." They all turned to look at Woohyuk to study his expression becausee Jungkook mentioned the name of his brother.

"Why...my brother...?" Woohyuk was clueless and Jungkook sighed.

"This is why I brought you here. Ahn Woohyun once captured Min Yoongi for d**g dealing and then physical accusation, but it turned out a fail. Then Detective Lee found out a mission between Ahn Woohyun and Chief Choi which he tried hard to burry that mission somewhere in his server which you hacked last time. Does it make sense to you now, Woohyuk?" Jungkook said showing a picture of Woohyun and Chief Choi together in a room.

"The file I hacked...It was about my brother?" The boy became gloomy and they noticed it. Hoseok patted Woohyuk's shoulder gently.

"Kim Kunjoo..." Jungkook continued showing a picture of Kim Kunjoo and his bodyguard who was a boxer.

"He is a subordinate of Choi Kyuwon who was a secret agent and currently dealing d**g. And the one who is behind his back is our target. And according to Jimin Hyung, the secret mission had something related to Commisioner Lee JongOk and Choi Kyuhyun which the late Oh HwangIn was also mentioned." It's gettingg clear and the members nodded in understanding.

"Oh HwangIn was shot last week. And the insider reported that Choi Kyuwon is the one behind it. We cannot get him yet because the insider still hiding there. And we plan to release the evidence once everything gets clear." Jungkook paused and everyone nodded in agreement. Woohyuk looked down making his boss to sigh out.

"What do you think about this whole mess?" Taehyung asked Namjoon who leaning his back in the chair.

"Get Chief Choi first, and then Ahn Woohyun will work it out so we can get him next. The next step will be Kim Kunjoo and Choi Kyuwon." Namjoon said his plan.

"Why Chief Choi first and then Woohyun?" Hoseok aksed and Namjoon gestured his hand to Jungkook.

"Because Woohyun always supports Chief Choi indirectly. He also helped Choi Kyuwon in killing Oh HwangIn. If we get Chief Choi first, Woohyun will be furious and do something to hide the truth that he's also involve and that will be a ladder to get Choi Kyuwon." Jungkook explained drawing line between the pictures of them and they pictured it out.

"But how to get Chief Choi?" Jimin asked.

"Next week, Chief Choi will meet his subordinates to talk about dealing d**g to China. And it's Taehyung Hyung's turn." The young chief pointed out and Taehyung shrugged.

"Jungkook, can you show the full chart?" Jin asked and Jungkook nodded. A chart appeared which ranked orderly of the people involved, from Ahn Woohyun to Commisioner Lee JongOk, there's a question mark on the commisioner and a red cross on Oh HwangIn since he was shot.

There were a few more photos revealed under it, they were the pictures of Ahn Woohyun with Oh hwangIn, with Chief Choi, Choi Kyuwon and also with Commisioner. And the last one, it was a photo of Min Yoongi and Kim Kunjoo which made everyone to turn to the blank LCD screen.

"Wae? It was Min Yoongi." Upon being watched, Gloss voiced out and they chuckled.

"I didn't remember stalking Min Yoongi though." Taehyung said.

"The real war is about to start." Hoseok and Jimin gave each other hi-fi with excitement.

"Then let's work our plan."

At the end of the day, Jungkook went to pick up his wife and son from her office as she worked overtime again. With the bags of food, Jungkook walked in the company quietly. He went to the guard section wanting to hand some food to the guard before. He could feel something wrong when he found a broken vase scattered its pieces around the floor. He took out his g*n and carefully went around the counter. There, he found the security guard on the floor, rope around ankles and wrists with black tape around his mouth. Jungkook quickly helped him out.

"Please help Hyerin-ssi and Daehan. Palli!" As soon as his mouth was released, the guard exclaimed while Jungkook untied the rope. Once done, Jungkook ran toward the elevator. But he couldn't be patient anymore and ran all his might up didn't even wanting to stop to catch a single breath. He was worried when she called him that she would work late but he couldn't make it faster.

He quickened his pace the more he got closer to the office. The door was close and his hand reached the door knob and was about to twist it open but his eyes catched a small note beside.

Are you running out of breath? That's how your life will be if you're acting stubborn again.

Fortunately, I didn't feel like getting them today. Because I want to have another chance meeting you as a friend. See ya...pyong!

Jungkook tried to catch his breath as sweats fell down his face. He clutched the note in his hand and held it tight before stuffing it in his pocket. He made a call to his office asking them to come quietly and made sure the guard was safe before knocking on the door and his son's smiling face showed up as the boy opened it for him.

"Appa!!!" He exclaimed happily jumping into his father's arms. Hyerin smiled at him and he went up to peck her forehead.

"What took you so long, Appa? I'm so hungry and Omma too." The boy whined and Jungkook thought about the food he left at the counter.

"We'll have dinner right away. Do you have fun today?" He asked sitting down on the couch beside Hyerin.

"Ne. I got a reward from my teacher and Halmony bought me blocks too." Daehan rambled grinning widely.

"Wah, that's awesome." Jungkook ruffled the boy's soft hair.

"Are you ok, Rin?" He asked looking at her tired face.

"I'm fine, just a little tired." She said softly. He nodded wanting to hug both of them tightly after what happened earlier. They knew nothing. They didn't even realize that at the other side of the door there was a threat to harm their lives. It was getting worse and he must prevent it before anything could harm them.

"Eo hyung. Let's work the plan." Jungkook said through his phone while getting in the car.

'I'm ready. He agreed to meet me in the afternoon.'

"Then I'll see him in the evening."

Meanwhile Jimin and Taehyung went into a restaurant and knocked out two waiters before dressing as ones.

Hoseok and Jin went up a building to the top and captures some photos of beautiful scenery of Ahn Woohyun and Choi Kyuwon. And suddenly, Oh Hwahyung came in the picture making Jin to raised his eyebrow.

Jungkook made sure his wife went home safe with Namjoon before making his way to meet Kim Kunjoo. The boxer was there with the head of the g**g. Jungkook noticed every single things around him as Kim Kunjoo poured him a glass of alcohol.

"Though the first time was not great, I guess this time will work." Kim Kunjoo started and Jungkook smirked.

"People change...especially with something special." The chief said before sipping his drink.

"It will be hard without you so you're going to be a big hand in this big project. And if it's a success, I'll make sure you get double next time."

"As long as it doesn't effect my name. You know I love it to be clean although the money is dirty." His words made the g**g to laugh out loud.

"Sure...sure it will be." Gladly, Kim Kunjoo cheered and the chief glanced at the boxer beside.

In a traditional restaurant, Jimin was in a waitor dress walking toward a room through the hallway. Taehyung came out of the room and took the tray of glasses from his friend before going back in the room. Chief Choi was laughing with two men and three girls came in the room. Taehyung scanned the chief's cloth before bending down to put the glasses and purposely tripped on Chief Choi. During the chaos he slipped a tool in the chief's pocket and quickly bowed to say sorry. Chief Choi yelled out in anger and the manager came in. Taehyung got scold and he fought back before saying he would quit. Jimin being his buddy, ran after as if he wanted to bring his friend back as he felt sorry. It was a nice show.

Both of them got in a van which Jin was waiting. They secretly listened to the conversation between Chief Choi and his friends.

'The way is East, 33 and 4 floor.'

'You meant the ship?'

'That's it. It will take a week.'

'Yes, I'll make sure it's safe.'

'Thanks. Just keep in mind that you'll get double each.'

'Thank you, Chief.'

Then they only hear to their normal conversation about stuffs and works. An hour later, they hear the unusual sound of a woman giggling and followed by moaning.

"Aish, that old man!" Taehyung whined throwing his headphone away with a pout as Jimin chuckled at his friend. Jin's ears got red and he was teased by the youngers.

In the middle of the night, they didn't even sleep as they kept talking about the work. It took them long enough to stay awake until some of them knocked out.

Jungkook messaged his nose bridge before turning to see his hyungs sleeping on the couch. He couldn't go home that night. The chief studied the photos and the recording from the day until he realized that it was morning already.

"Hyung, is there anything wrong?" Jungkook asked as he walked into his office tiredly.

'Nothing. I'll keep watching them. Don't worry.'

"Thanks, hyung." He said and Woohyuk bowed at him.

"Boss, someone dropped this for you." The assistant said handing Jungkook a file.

"What is it?" The chief asked and examined the file.

"I see. Thanks." Upon seeing the sign at the bottom of the file he knew where it was from.

"And...about my brother..." Woohyuk hesitated.

"Talk it out." Jungkook said sitting down and gestured for his assistant to sit too.

"Don't you know how much I trust you, Woohyuk? I let you know the secret agents, I want you to know about all of these because I trust you." Jungkook said and he nodded.

"I really don't know what to do about him. I didn't even suspect anything about him when he asked me about work. Cluelessly, I told him everything..." He honestly said it out.

"And you're afraid that you'll ruin the work here."

"Ne..."

"Then what do you think?"

"I'll try to avoid giving any information."

"That will make you suspicious."

"Then?"

"Tell him what you know but not about the secret agents. Tell him what happen in here but not outside. You know what I meant?"

"But...I feel bad if something happen to him...as a brother..."

"You can think about it. You can decide to involve in this or withdraw yourself. Make a win-win decision. I'll hear what you have." The chief said hitting Woohyuk's shoulder gently before going to his desk and work.

Quietly, Hyerin went into Namjoon's car. He asked if she was ok and she just nodded although she was not well with the fact that Jungkook didn't come back home the night before. She was worried and she felt like it's strange. Before he was away and she was used to it. But then it's not normal for her anymore. She felt like wanting to know everything he did, she was dead worried about him.

"If you worry about him, he's working and we were together last night. Yes, he was tired and exhausted but it's work." Namjoon assumed and she smiled weakly.

"Thanks, Oppa." Then they went to take Daehan from her parents in law's house before going to their apartment.

Jungkook was looking at the photos on his desk when his phone rang receiving a call from his beautiful wife. He smiled before picking it up.

"Do you miss me already?" He said smiling and his smile faded away at what she said.

Quickly, he grabbed his car key and ran out of the office.

Panting, he rushed into the house and he was dumbfounded at the spot. Hyerin was sitting on the couch in the living room and facing her was a beautiful girl in floral dress.

"Ryohui?"

"Jungkook oppa..."

'Oppa?'
