Nicola's POV: I'd slept in until noon, so I hadn't felt all that hungry earlier that morning. By the time my stomach was growling so loud it could've woken the neighbors, I was so famished my ribs felt like they were digging into my spine. I stumbled out of bed, fully intending to boil a bowl of chicken noodle soup for myself. The second I stepped into the kitchen, my eyes locked right onto the steamer on the counter. Colin had classes that morning, so I'd left him to it and gone back to sleep. I never would've guessed he'd left a plate of grilled cheese sandwiches on my dining table before he left. I brushed my fingers against the bread. It was still nice and toasty.
