"Please don't make me go," she pleaded and my heart shattered. I wanted nothing more than to take her and hold her, but if Rhunia and Redes were truly coming like I knew they were, she wasn't safe.
"I cannot protect you against Rhunia and Redes," I growled through clenched teeth. "Please, my love, don't force me to watch you die at their hands."
Tears flowed freely from her eyes and I hated myself for it. "But, you are Death!"
