Chapter 9: Catherine the Beautiful

With Ah-dau settled and the three-headed spiky-tailed dragon put to one side, Scarlett finally had a few days off!

That day, her university classmate Katherine called her out of the blue.

'Katherine, why did you suddenly decide to call me?

My dear friend, I'm in Damo now and I don't really have any friends here. I want to talk to you!' Katherine said with a smile.

Oh, that's right, bring your friends. I heard you opened an office and your friends are quite impressive too! I'd love to meet them! Catherine said teasingly.

Scarlett hung up and called Lao Niu, Liu Jie and A-dai to go to the Golden Palace Hotel!

These three are my good friends and also my colleagues.

Catherine looked in the direction Scarlett was pointing and suddenly her eyes lit up. Ah-dai had blue hair and green eyes, and he was just too handsome!

Catherine bowed to Ah-dai and said, 'Hello, I'm Catherine!

Dodo did not reply, but looked at the table, then walked over and ate without asking.

Scarlett smiled helplessly, 'I'm sorry Catherine, that's just Dodo being Dodo.

'It's all right, Scarlett, Mr Dodo's got a lot of character! Catherine didn't care, she thought Dodo was just a very arrogant person.

Three waiters brought in six bottles of wine, which looked very expensive just by looking at the packaging.

Catherine also knew that the Golden Palace Hotel was owned by the Scarlett family.

At dinner, Scarlett told Catherine about some of the fantastic things she had seen in the last two years, and Catherine listened with great interest.

Dumb never said a word the whole time, just kept eating as if he had been hungry for hundreds of years. Catherine also looked at Dumb from time to time, because this man gave her a feeling that she could neither understand nor fathom. It was like those Korean dramas, so mysterious and captivating.

The restaurant was very upscale, and there was a separate karaoke room next to the private dining room. After dinner, Sixth Sister and Lao Niu went to the next room to sing. Lao Niu's voice was just terrible, and it sounded like he was singing a funeral song for a black person.

Scarlett was still talking to Catherine, while Ah-dai lay on the sofa next to them, staring dazedly at the ceiling.

They didn't leave the restaurant until it was dark, and Catherine was staying at the same hotel as Scarlett's family, the Bolton Hotel. It was just around the corner and two blocks away, very close.

Catherine wanted to see the night view of Damo's Evil City, so she suggested they walk to the hotel, and Scarlett had no choice but to agree. So the five of them walked, as if for a stroll, along the busiest street in Damo's Evil.
