"Father."
I sat down. Back against the cold stone of his crypt.
The cemetery was quiet. Just me and the dead.
"I'm here again. I know. I always say I'll visit more. Never do."
The wind picked up. Moved through the trees. Through the markers.
"I've missed you. Did you miss me?".
Stupid question. He was dead. Had been for five years. Couldn't miss anyone.
But I pretended anyway.
"I'll take that as yes." I tilted my head back against the stone. Looked up at the sky. Dark now. Stars coming out. "I've been busy. In case you were wondering why it took me this long to visit."
