Chapter 8
I mindlessly strummed my guitar as if it was the easiest thing in the world. I was in the garden of the boarding house. It had various flower beds on one side and trees on the other. It had a vast outdoor pool with deck chairs. My favourite part was by the trees.
In the corner of the garden, there was a big tree with a swing held by ropes. It also had a patch of grass around it.
I was sitting on the patch of grass leaning against the bark of the tree whilst playing on my acoustic. It had been a week and the story hadn't really got anywhere. Shane didn't like anyone's idea - as usual, and he isn't exactly pulling weight himself. We decided to have a lazy day today no work just play so I decided to stay outside. I was planning to go to see my parents in a bit. The previous week had been so hectic I hadn't had the chance.
I closed my eyes and let myself surrender to the music all until I had a tap on the shoulder. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Trisha kneeling in front of me.
"Yes, Trisha?" I said.
"You know... since we have a free day today I was wondering if we could go shopping!" She said. I gave her 'you can not be serious' look.
"Don't give me that look! You know we have been stuck inside the studio for a week! We haven't gotten anywhere because of that pr!ck of a Shane Ashby." She said.
"I don't like shopping," I complained pathetically.
"Oh c'mon Lizzie! It's not like you have any plans! I bet all you are going to do is stay out here all day with your guitar! You really need to get out more!" She said. I was just about to say that I did have plans but I knew she was going to ask questions.
I hadn't even told my own band about my parents and I've known them for like two years? So I don't think Trisha is going to know any time soon either.
"I don't want to!" I whined. She rolled her eyes at me and then took my guitar from my grasp. I had learned in the past week that Trisha had impressive upper arm strength so if I wanted a broken guitar I would try to take the guitar off her.
"You are coming shopping with me!" She said.
"Do I have to?" I said hopelessly. It was pointless arguing with her I learnt that too.
"Yes, we are going shopping whether you like it or not!" She said. I sighed.
Hmmm... Elise said she wanted to go shopping with me maybe I could take her with us.
"Okay... But can I bring my sister with us?" I asked.
"You have a sister?" She asked.
"Yeah, she's 21. She likes shopping too and I promised her that I'll go shopping with her so she could tag along. I don't think she's got university today." I said.
"Yeah, she should come what's her name?" She asked curiously.
"Her name is Elise. I'll call her now to see if she could come." I said. She nodded. I slipped my phone out of my pocket and called Elise.
"Hello?" She said. I smiled.
"Hey, Elise what's up?" I said.
"I just came back from university I only had one class today."
"That's great. I was wondering would you like to go shopping?"
"Yeah, I'll love too. Wait. Isn't it usually me asking you to go shopping?"
"Uh yeah. But I'm going with Trisha you know I told you about her a few days ago. She isn't taking no for an answer so I thought you could come as well."
"I'll love to come when are we going?" She asked.
"In a bit just get ready I think we'll be getting ready now too. We'll pick you up." I said.
"Okay, then I'll get ready I'll see you in a bit."
"See you." Then the line went dead. I put my phone back in my pocket and turned to Trisha.
"She's coming. I guess we better get ready?" I said.
"Yep." She replied.

I pulled out in front of my house. It felt good to see home again. I got out of the driver's seat and Trisha remained on the passenger.
I managed to persuade her that I would drive. I walked to the porch of my house and opened the door with my key. I entered the house and walked inside in the search of Elise.
"Elise?" I called out.
"Right here." She said from behind be exiting from the kitchen. I turned around and saw her she was fully ready.
"Ready to go?" I asked making sure.
"Yes. Let's go!" She said happily. I gave her a small smile. We exited the house and got into the car. Elise sat in the back.
"Lizzie do you really need to take your guitar with you everywhere?" She asked trying to wedge herself next to the guitar. The guitar took most of the space in the back.
"Yes," I answered simply and started the car.
"So Elise, I'm Trisha Sparks from Blazing lights. I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard of me yet. We have an introductory show tomorrow for our new song and we are going to play a few covers." Trisha said. Trisha had her band launch tomorrow they only had 1 song done but that was good enough for now.
I remember when I had mine. I was scared of what people would think of me and my songs but they loved it.
"Ah yes, Lizzie told me about you. I am so happy that you two are friends I was beginning to get worried..." she first said animatedly but then trailed knowing it was something she said by accident. I didn't bring up the fact I barely had any friends up to anyone.
"Worried? Lizzie must have more friends!" Trisha said.
"Uh yeah, she does... I meant like girl company you know being on tour with three other guys and stuff." Elise amended. I sighed internally in relief I didn't want to answer any questions so I avoided it as much as I could.
"Oh yeah I know what you mean but this tour we'll be together so things would be great. It depends how much times we have between shows and stuff." She said.
"Well, that's great. You know I'm curious how did you persuade Lizzie to go shopping?" Elise asked.
They carried on talking throughout the journey until I pulled out in the parking lot by the mall. We exited the car and then went into the mall.
I have a feeling I am not going to like a moment of this.

"C'mon Lizzie let's go to this shop," Trisha said. I looked at the shop and saw that it was Victoria's secret.
"There is no way you are dragging me in there," I said.
"Oh c'mon Lizzie! I'm not telling you to get some naughty lingerie! We can just go in there!" Elise pointed out.
"I don't need to go in there I have enough lingerie! I'll wait outside." I said.
To be perfectly honest the only reason I don't want to enter the shop because all the shops I had been in before I had brought so many things I don't even know what.
"Stop being such a baby," Trisha said and with that, they both dragged me into the shop. We had security take our stuff to the car. We even had some security walk around with us so fans wouldn't go all crazy since I was here. That was another reason I didn't like shopping. I was followed and it became creepy after a while.
Don't get me wrong I love my fans but being constantly followed is too much for a person.
We entered the shop and they pulled me over to the sets.
"I think Lizzie you should get this one," Elise said. I looked at the set in her hand and saw that it was sheer black with little diamantes on it.
"I'm not going to get any lingerie, Elise!" I said.
"Fine you might not get any for yourself but I'll get some for you," Elise said. I would object but it was pointless.
"Hmmm..." Trisha said. She was smirking which isn't a good sign.
"What are you think Trisha?" I asked cautiously.
"I'm just thinking of the look that Shane would have on his face if he saw you in any of these..." She trailed. I stared at her wide-eyed. She is not thinking that!
"Trisha! You know he hates me! He does glance at me twice to have a disgusted face!" I said.
"Still... He would have to look at you twice because he would just stand and stare..." She said.
"Oh just zip it!" I said exasperatedly.
"Chill Lizzie. He's missing out because he hates you. You two would make a really cute couple." She said.
Why do I have a feeling that she's probably hatching something up in her head?
"He has a girlfriend! And why would he want me? I'm not hot or model material." I said.
"Lizzie you are beautiful. Every girl is in their own way! You have the looks and the personality! I swear if people looked as if they were their personality you would be the most beautiful person in the world. But that doesn't mean you aren't already." Elise said. I shook my head they were just saying that.
"Yeah and if people looked like their personality imagine Shane. Yuck." Trisha said. I smiled at that.
To be perfectly honest I think that if Shane wasn't so angry at me then he would be a nice person. Everyone has kindness in them but shows in a different way.

I dropped on my bed after a tiring day of shopping. I stretched my arms and wanted sleep to succumb me. I then remembered I had left my guitar downstairs. I reluctantly got off my bed and left the room to go retrieve my guitar.
Everyone was doing their own thing so I went to the lounge and retrieved it. I then went to the kitchen to make myself some coffee.
After I had made it I sat on one of the bar stools which were around the island. I silently drank my coffee thinking about nothing in particular until someone entered the kitchen. It was Shane.
He went to the fridge and got out a water bottle not glancing at me. He then closed the fridge and went against the kitchen counter. I focused solely on my coffee as I felt an intense gaze bore into me.
"Lizzie." He said. I looked up at him making my face emotionless.
"Yes, Shane?" I said.
"I don't think your songs are s**t it's the fact you are here what annoys me. But that doesn't mean I hate you." He said and with that, he left leaving me confused.
Okay, he doesn't hate me. He doesn't think my songs are sh!t I just annoy him. What had I done?
Nothing. My brain told me.
Maybe sometimes doing nothing is doing a lot so what do I do? I'm not desperate for him to think civil of me. I just don't want to be hated.
