Chapter 10 "Hey, guys! I'm Trisha Sparks and this is my band Blazing lights. That's Charlie West, Marcus Grady and Jacob Samuels. I hope you enjoy the show!" She said. And with that, she kicked off. They started off with a cover it was How to save a life by The Fray. She seemed quite tight with her voice at first but soon she surrendered herself to the music as I told her to. She and her band had amazing chemistry and they looked happy to be up there. I turned to see Johnny looking intently at her. I then got an idea. "Johnny...?" I said. He didn't take his eyes off her. "Hmmm?" He said. I smiled very slightly. "What do you think of Trisha?" I asked choosing my words carefully. He turned to me and looked confused. "What do you mean what do I think of her?" He asked. "You clearly like her... That's a change for you." I pointed out. He scoffed. "Yeah right. I don't like her. She'll just be another f*ck." He said. I could clearly see in his face that it was more than that. "Well, Johnny, it better not be. I swear if you use her and then dump her you would regret it. You deserve much more than the sluts you find and play with. If you are going to 'f**k' her make sure she is 100% alright with it or that you are in a relationship and I don't mean friends with benefits. She is my friend so don't do anything okay?" I said to him firmly. Usually, I wasn't strong-worded. But if it had to be done, it had to be done. He looked taken aback by what I had said. I felt proud of myself. "Okay, Lizzie. I won't, you are starting to scare me. I guess I won't 'f**k' her then." He said. "I'm not saying you can't I don't want you to use her," I said. "I don't... do relationships you know that Lizzie." He said. "Give it a shot. I think if you put your man-w***e ways aside you two you be great together." I encouraged. He smiled at me. "I'll see what I could do. Wait. Are you trying to hook us up? Does Trisha know you are doing this?" He asked suspiciously. I shook my head. "You know I don't play matchmaker I'm just saying what I think. And no, Trisha does not know. If you two are meant to be then let's see." I said. He nodded. I hope they do end up together. I don't know... But I have a good feeling about them. * Blazing lights had done most of their songs and were having a break. I decided to go backstage and congratulate them on their great performance. "You guys did amazing! See I told you, Trisha, that you'll be great." I said. They then all turned to me. "Well I just did what you said and you were right! Thank you! I guess I learned from the best!" She said happily to me. She smiled and I returned the gesture. I didn't notice but Shane was backstage too. "Yeah right." He said. I ignored him. Trisha turned to him and gave him a hard look. "Look who's talking. You aren't the best Shane and you didn't give any advice. So keep your facts right." She snapped at him. He gave her a long, hard glare. "I was referring to the fact anyone can perform if they have talent and guts so you get your facts right." He snapped harshly back and then walked off. Probably to the bar. "Just ignore him, Lizzie. I think he's just jealous." Trisha said to me. "I do ignore him and he's got nothing to be jealous of really," I said. "Actually he does. You have more talent than him. You have more than 100 good qualities you don't see yourself, do you? And most of all you have the headliner." She said. "Hmmm... I've got to agree about the headliner. He does seem to want it really badly. But it can't just be that can it?" I questioned thoughtfully. It would be nice to know. I am starting to get tired of it. "Or maybe...." Trisha started and then she smirked. "Or maybe...?" I pressed curiously not sure whether I wanted to hear it. "Or maybe he likes you and he doesn't want to show it. And if he does... If he does then Lizzie you better play hard to get. Do not let his charm get to you okay?" She whispered. I looked at her as if she was going mad. He clearly does not like me. I mean like c'mon out of all the girl out there why would he choose me. Okay, I have money, fame and publicity but he has that too! And I don't want to have a relationship. I am better off on my own so that way I wouldn't get hurt. But it would be nice to trust someone, to tell all your secrets and problems too, someone who wants you no matter what you look like or who you are and someone who is your's and your's only. I internally sighed. That's fairytale talk. "Hel-lo? Earth to Lizzie? Are you in La La Land or something?" Trisha asked and was clicking her fingers in the front of my face. I shook the thoughts from my mind. "Yeah, Trisha?" I said. "Were you daydreaming or something?" She asked me with a smile playing on her lips. "I was just lost in some thoughts," I admitted. She gave me a look and was just about to say something but got interrupted by Marcus. "Trisha we have to go back on." He said. She turned to him and nodded. She then turned back to me. "I've got to go back on. Wish me luck and this discussion is not over." She said. I nodded hoping that later she would forget. There wasn't really anything to it either. "Good luck!" I said and gave her a half-hearted smile. With that, she left and went back on stage. * "Thank you, guys! You have been a great audience thank you so much for your support. I'll like to thank my friend Lizzie over there so the great advice and support she gave me. Without her, I'll surely be a wreck!" Trisha said to the crowd at the end of their launch. Everyone loved it and burst out into an applause myself included. I felt warm inside because of the call out I had. I smiled and waved back at her as she waved at me. I felt stares from all over the place one intense stare was boring into my face you could guess who was that from. I gave everyone friendly smiles not really feeling them and waves here and there to people I have met before. I was kind of a shy person despite the publicity and fame I had. It was with the music I was who I am otherwise not so much. After a few minutes, the applause died down and everyone was to their own thing. Trisha was off stage I prayed she had forgotten about the previous conversation. "That was amazing! I loved the audience they were great! And did you like your shout out at the end?" She asked. I nodded. "It was great and thank you! You didn't have to." I said. She shook her head slightly. "I did I wouldn't have done that if it wasn't for you. I probably would've forgotten the lyrics or something." She said. "Yeah my advice worked but the shout wasn't needed but I'm flattered you did." "That's why I did it. Your head isn't going to explode with pride. You aren't egotistical. And it's what friends are for." "I agree." * After the launch party, we all decided to go out a celebrate. They had goals to make me wasted but it wasn't going to happen. I was a careful drinker and I wasn't even legal yet so I didn't want to take any chances. Right now I was dancing with Trisha in the crowd no one seemed to recognise me which I was glad of. Trisha had had some drinks but nothing heavy well not yet anyway. I didn't have anything. After a while, Mark and Jacob approached us. "Hey, you two. We are the next of the guys are going to play never have I ever want to participate?" Mark said. His speech was slightly slurred. I thought for a second. Hmmm... I either get wasted or play this game. I think I know what I'll choose. "Yeah, I'll play," I said. I don't know if I am going to regret this. "Me too. Let's go." Trisha said. We followed Jacob and Mark back to the guys who were in the corner by a rickety table. The table's content were shots. "Okay everyone one is here. Grab a shot and we'll start." Tony said. His speech too was slurred. I picked up a shot and so did everyone else. When I was picking it up Shane was as well and for a second our hands brushed causing sparks to erupt in my body. I decided to ignore it. Shane didn't seem too bothered but looked ever so slightly confused. "Okay let's start. I'm first. Hmmm..." Johnny said. He thought for a minute before continuing. "Never have I ever fallen in love." He said. I looked curiously around. Trisha, Mark, surprisingly Charlie, Jamie and Matt took a shot. Then Shane did. I was shocked. He didn't seem like the type but then again Charlie didn't either. I didn't take a shot because I had never been in love. Yes, I was with Caleb but it wasn't love. Well, not true love. "You know Lizzie I half expected you to take a shot," Matt said. I arched an eyebrow. "What made you think that?" I asked. "I don't know... you're quiet and keep to yourself you don't seem to let anyone in well that was what I was told. Hmmm... I guess you weren't then." He said. Next, it was Trisha. "Never have I ever... been in a car accident." She said. I gulped. As much as I wanted to lie I didn't. I brought the shot to my lips and drank it. Ignored the burn in my throat. Luckily I wasn't the only one who took a shot. Lucas, Matt and Shane did. "It was minor. Years ago." I lied. I was getting curious looks from my band. "We were drunk," Jamie explained. It was then my turn. I thought of a second. Hmm... What haven't I done which they have... Then it popped into my head. "Never have I ever... had s*x," I said. It felt awkward proclaiming my innocence but I kept to it. Everyone took a shot. "You've never got laid?" Charlie said shockingly. "I'm not really surprised with that. You don't seem like you'll get laid anyhow." Matt said. "Well no I haven't Charlie," I said. "How could a girl as sexy as you NOT get laid?" He asked. I shrugged. "I don't do things like that casually and don't have the time for a relationship," I explained. I kept it to that not wanting to give details. Next, it was Shane. I was curious about what he was going to say. "Never have I ever... been rejected." He said. With his midnight blue eyes, he scanned to see who took a shot. Johnny obviously took a shot being rejected by Trisha. Lucas, Marcus, Jacob and Tony took a shot. Shane seemed shocked that I haven't. I never wanted anyone so where's the rejection in that? And really... it was me doing the rejecting. * Hours passed and I was drained from the club So I persuaded Trisha to come home with me a little early. Actually, it wasn't even early it was 2 in the morning. We spent a good 4 hours there. We took a cab back to the boarding house. Trisha was completely wasted so I made sure she got into bed. I, on the other hand, was sober I only had a few drinks and had four shots in never have I ever. The drinks I drank weren't strong. I got back into my room not really tired enough to go to sleep. My eyes were droopy, yes but I couldn't find myself to rest. I went downstairs guitar in hand to the studio. The house was empty apart from me and Trisha. I wasn't sure how long I took strumming my guitar singing softly before I was interrupted by the boarding house mainline. Who would be calling at this time? Confused, I got off my position and walked across the room to get the phone. I picked it up and answered. "Hello?" I said. "Lizzie?" A voice said. I soon recognised it to be Shane's I wonder what he wants...
