"Did I scare you?" Soren murmured.
Kaliyah looked away from him, her eyes lowered. He looked so terrifying with those ruby red eyes.
Soren made a move towards her and she flinched. Cursing softly, he turned away and reigned in his emotions. The red haze in his eyes faded as he gained control again, then he turned to her.
"I'm sorry I scared you."
His apology surprised her and she began to wonder if the rumours she heard about him were false. People said he was as ruthless as he was merciless. He never spared his enemies, and he killed with ease.
But staring at him now, it didn't look like any of them were true.
"Alpha Soren, I'm really grateful for your help." She said softly. "No one has ever shown me such kindness, except..." She trailed off as she remembered Betsy.
