Melcorka unfolded the silk. The Blue Boar of Alba menaced her from its background of yellow silk. "Mackintosh!" she yelled the name. "Do you have a long pole, a spear, anything like that?" Mackintosh grinned when he saw the standard. "Cameron has," he said, and returned with his rival, the chief of Clan Cameron. It took two minutes for Cameron to fit the standard between two long-handled Lochaber axes. After another few moments, a pair of stalwart volunteers, one from Clan Chattan and one from the Camerons, carried the Blue Boar in front of the Alban army.
